    HWy,
Tight studies you got there.Really nice.DOnt draw again and again on the same line .I destroys the beauty of the form.

Read these wise words by mentler.
    Point, Line, Plane

Think of the mass <> visualize it in your mind <> POINTS <> decide where you want your line to start and where you want it to end <> LINE <> then draw your line from point A over the conceived form to point B <> PLANE <> all lines involved in creating illusionary drawing are the edge of a plane.

The point of course is the unity of mass and line <> they are not separate issues <> don't outline something then shade it <> determine the mass and shape it with line and tone/value
    Take care and keep working.

Heya, keep up the studies. I agree with Lighting, the last post looked a bit stiff, but you're definitely getting there!

Why are they blurry? That really bothers me. Can you fix that?

sorry i havent updated. I just started a full time job which has been really tiring. I should be able to get a few pages up tonight though.
The reason some are really blurry is because i have a weird shaking thing with my hands ( i should probably ask a doctor about it ) so when i take a picture and it goes on long exposure is comes out all blurry. I also found i have a very dificult time drawing in pen because of it.
The book is pretty good. its really for people who have never drawn before but im doing the exerrcises anyway and its helping a bit. Theres a lot of fluff in it (some psudo science) but id recomend it.

Not much to say, the others have already pointed out all of your mistakes, but you seem to have the faces down, i really like your joker face the best so far. Hope to see more of your work.

    long overdue new stuff

damn working in a 110 degree kitcken is tiring. Heres some stuff ive done. the mustached man is a copy of a baldini painting. I dont think ill upload my stuff from betty edwards book, dont want to waste space.
I also experimented with some acrylic paint today (just black and white with value mixing). All i have to say is i hate the stuff, im gonna try watering it down next time i use it, but its so thick and dries so fast i can barely spread it on the canvas. any tips would be awsome
(it probably also doesnt help that my pallette is like 5" x 8" )

Yo. I really like the silouette of the woman. I hated acrylic at first too. Just do it in thin layers and you'll slowly build up confidence. Try studying a painting that you like. For me the hardest part was mixing my colors, but i'm slowly getting better at it. Just keep doing it. If you want to keep the paints moist, try putting moist paper towels under your palette paper, mine stayed moist for hours. Keep updating, i want to see more!

Im going down the shore for a few days. So ill be back and ill have many new pages of bikini clad ladies

I like the backs of the girls heads. If chairs are your thing (I only see one, but its the only crit I can think of) really try to draw them well. They're really good perspective practice.

You did something right on that back-view girl's head, because i dig it as well. In the 3/4 view man in the last post his mouth is too long on the side facing away from us. The mouth is usually forshortened from that angle and one half is distorted and short, while the other is normal sized. Keep drawing!

    i have returned.
Thanks for the input guys ill use them starting now.
Here is the stuff i was able to do while not being dragged around by the family. Almost all of it was referanced. Though people where constantly moving so i would get the gesture down and use memory for the rest
The little girl with the "watch your children" sign actualy happened. She somehow climbed onto the top of a lifeguard tower after the lifeguards had left for the day and all fo the life guard towers have "watch your children" written around the top of them. Was one of the most ironic things ive ever witnessed.
I also picked up "A treatise on painting" by Leonardo da vinci. Its a collection of all his notes relating to art. Really interesting stuff and its really starting to change how i look at things. It also unfortunately caused me to draw less cause its so interesting though

Loads of awesome. It looks like you got a lot of them proportionally accurate. Work a little bit on three-dimensionality - some of them look kinda flat. Also, work on heads a lot. Otherwise, great life drawing, i like it. Keep it up.

Nice update here. Lines could use more confidence though, the choppy/thick lines make the pieces look off a bit

Hey, great update. My only advice: try to use more assertive lines, get rid of those hairy lines.
    Otherwise, looking good!

I agree with Fedezz, also maybe try to use a softer pencil (?) or be a little more confident in making your lines. Things are looking a bit light.

alright, there were updates, and improvement, and then nothing for a month. I guess the way this whole sketch group thing works is to get on people's cases when they slack with the drawing. So UPDATE!
