Everything looks awesome dude, your clean marker work is really nice.
The only thing I noticed that stood out to me is that with most of your figures, you give them short legs and a long torso. Its not too bad on men, but on women it looks a little odd since long legs a feminine thing.

Anyways, great work besides, keep it up.

Thanks I'm still playing with texture. I make a lot of mistakes.

Most of the sketches of late are of Korean characters and most of my figure studies have indicated that Asian girls seem to either have slightly shorter legs than torso or equal torso and leg length.

But you're right and when I want to femininize a character I tend to lengthen the legs and curve the hips more.

OK. Last of the 25 Expressions for Mae. I'll consolodate them into NapalmNancy's original exercise sheet and upload in a few.

So here's the compiled sheet. There are several that I hate. A couple that I like. And I'm not sure that all twenty five are useful. That being said the exercise was helpful in intimating with the subject.

Really loving these works, looks like you have got a good eye for shape and layout.

I'd be interested in seeing you explore some different ways of rendering your subjects. (The Buffalo is a great example, it looks Freshhhh )

    keep up the great work

Thanks Kapil. I love when people describe my lines as confident . I lack confidence in just about every other area

I finished the Buffalo warrior commission tonight. Here's the final.

While the 25 Essential Expressions exercise was productive. I've decided to try something else. So we start with 8 "happy" expressions.

Also... a progress sketch of SolHwa. Haven't decided what the background on this one will be yet.

wow nice love your character designs! and esp the way you shade and texture them, sweet stuff theres just something that bugs me with the expressions, maybe you could push them a little bit more.

You're so right. Check my next post... I took a second crack at expressions. Because like you I was completely unsatisfied.

So this is me just playing around with effects. Yoo and Mae in the rain.

A second attempt at expressions. This time grouped by general emotion... ala jovial expressions.

I very well remember your sketchbook. Why?
Because it is uniQue. When I came here two years
ago on CA, i started to look on people sketchbooks,
and I was saving their work in a personal folder, and I
got some of your drawings gathered there. Lots of motivation,
lots of energy and overall this is all magnificent.
I told you back there in some of my posts in your book
that I will try to learn some of your technique. So maybe
I did. Subconsciously. Maybe I have learned something from
you over the two years. Should I give some crits? I am not
ready for that. Advice? I do not know. Anatomy studies are
always welcome. Gestures as well. You are doing these paladin
futuristic armed nun drawings. Gestures you should do all the time.
Will bring even bigger magic to your work. Keep on doing the things
you are doing. And thank you for sharing.

Snake, it's humbling to know that I earned a place in your inspiration folder! Thanks.

So I've been drawing a lot of Koreans for my comicbook set in Korea.. but I haven't drawn much Korea... so let's change that.

Hey Nicky, thanks for coming back! Glad you're enjoying the latest updates.

    Joseon Building
Another masking disaster. I wanted to create the impression of bushy trees in the background. But not only did the ink bleed past the mask in several spots but my ink wasn't diluted enough and went way too dark. As a result I sort of rushed through the rest of the inking process.
