haha sweet domo kun, try not to use such pure white for the highlights though.

i like the values on the sphere, reckon it would look better if you gave the shadow a red tint considering you got a red bg

    keep it up man!

looking sweet man, although it feels slightly dull in terms of hue. also i suggest grabbing a soft brush and pushing some of those edges back a bit to make things pop more, dont forget about contrast in terms of hardness for spacial depth

PS: im really digging that little fluff along the inside rim at the top of the toilet roll, nice little touch

very nice work on that paper roll study man, the texture is very credible.
    great hand studies as well.
very impressive life drawing studies on the earlier page, try to get some of those fluent lines into your imaginative work as well.

Another colour still life! Not great, but I feel like I'm learning more about colour, so it's ok.

looking good, man! keep these studies up!
remember to read up on some art theory and keep it in mind while doing these!
like color temperature, complementary colors and stuff like that.

What are you learning about colour? Ask yourself if the life study is warm or cool, and what the temperature is of specific parts.

The warm and cool sides of the colour wheel have warm and cool colours in them. It goes deeper and deeper into detail. I hope I'm not telling you something you already know.

Max Challie: I've read up basic colour theory, but now I'm finding that I just need to go with the flow when I'm drawing. Thinking about it too much makes the process lame.

    Hey,

Quality over quantity. Always try to learn something from every single drawing or painting, don't let yourself make the same mistakes over and over again or to allow yourself to stagnant by not pushing yourself.

Your pencil is hitting the paper a lot, with a good variety as well! I would suggest at times focusing on getting even more clean linework, using softer underdrawing so that you can really get some nice line weight going. Great stuff really, awesome head drawings in #294. nice all around with those life studies...TP was amusing to see

Interceptor: Thank yew. Maybe I'll have to paint another one.

That fat kid: Thanks for the headsup, dude. Appreciate it.
    I think I am stagnating...

    Jakers: Thanks man.

Couple of characters I will probably take further in a desperate attempt to put a folio together before the workshop.

    *Incoming rant warning*
I've been thinking a lot lately (yeah, bad idea), about how little I still know in the world of art, the stairs are being paved as I climb them.

I'm realizing more and more that art is completely, 100% subjective. I was always obsessed with achieving technical competency, but I'm realizing it's gonna take more than that, but I don't really know what.

I feel like study after study just isn't cutting it, it's the same thing, over and over, maybe that is exactly what it takes.
    I don't know.

    great faces
in my opinion art is expression and things like studies just help you to express yourself better.
Really it is all simple until you start thinking about it
keep it up mate you know more than you give yourself credit for
