    >>Breaking bad habits<<

Damn it sure has been awhile since I posted. I had an urge to make a new sketchbook, I need a place to get feedback and just play around, which I haven't done at all lately. I also want to get more focused in my efforts, So I thought I would place a list of goals at the beginning of the thread, don't read it if you don't want to, it's really just to try to keep myself on track and improve, and remind myself of what I need to get accomplished:

Thoroughly learn and apply perspective and constuctive drawing <biggest problem with draftmanship>
Remember to have fun when drawing, and balance serious studies with work done for personal enjoyment
    Train memory <major goal>
Complete more finished works, i.e, pieces with thought put into composition and conception and brought to a fuller realization than sketches
Continue studies from life, drawing and painting, and studying compositions and painting techniques of masters.
Learn to draw people WEARING CLOTHES. I have almost no knowledge of clothing and costume and this is something I must work on.

I guess I could go on and on with all that, maybe I'll make the rest of the list somewhere else. Here are some things I've done recently:

You paint landscapes a lot like a friend of mine does, mark-wise. His color's fecking ridiculous, but still, very cool using those wide rectangular strokes. Sketches look very cool, very fluid - love the woman with the snake. The painting of the woman I'm assuming's a bobble-head or something? I hope so, otherwise I dunno where you got those proportions. Nice colors - I'd only really suggest re-aligning those eyes. Keep posting, man.

YEAH, there you go again, finally!! Great to see you posting again, mate!
It'S pretty cool that you established some special goals for you, I did something similar to rhat a few weeks ago! These landscapes look pretty cool although it would be nice to go into detail with them. I really think your landscapes would be way cooler that way since you have real good sense for color. These portraits look good as well, keep goin, mate!

Thanks for the replies, I gotta go check out what kind of work you guys have been doing... so much to catch up on. Here's a little update. I gotta get back to doing some concept work and try to do something creative, I figured I'd have a go practicing with silhouette thumbnails.

Shoot man, I think you needed that time away. This stuff shows alot more fluidity, I always thought your drawings, even from life, looked pretty stiff. The last old dude one looks really nice, and shows a TON of competence, as do the SP's. They reveal alot more form than previously.

Man, that first girls in blue, is really really nice! Maybe her hands look a bit wierd, but her knees are beautiful as is the snakes. I like the face as well. The first PS one, the portrait, is really nice too. Your sketches are really neat as well, I particularely (spell?) like the lady in the bottom of the left corner on the page where you excuse the bad quality. Nice stuff man.
