lovely
Hi there. Very nice fairy-tale image. I think the background is quite lovely and I really enjoy the dappled lighting on the ivy. Lovely colors for the trees and light, too. The girl is very nice, but looking closer, there are a few odd things about her. The way her body is bent surely is impossible and some of her proportions don't really match up. Small feet, too long lower leg, just picky things. Your rendering and choices of color on her is very good. Looking forward to more of your posts. And did you do this in Painter?
i really like the background color and the light coming through the forest, very nice. you did a good job rendering the body, but then you ran into a few problems with her lower legs. the ankle and feet get a little small and flat. just try looking up some anatomy references for that. remember, when you point your foot your calf muscle gets bigger. so i would show more definition between the calf and the soleus. i like the way you rendered the foliage, but it does not really connect with the figure, and tends to be a bit distracting. it seems as if she is just dropped into a different environment, and not actually there in the forest. great work though!
ah that's nice. i like the background and composition most about this piece. i also like how her hair flows into the ivy. i agree with turokess about the dappling of the light on the ivy, very nice. im trying to find an original negative crit but can't seem to find one. good job
very nice
the colors are gorgeous
i am not too fond of the butterfly i guess, it seems a bit cliché, but still thats a wonderful and peaceful picture
you did all those leaves one by one ?
Very nice! I like it a lot!
The only thing I can add about her and the enviroment being different, is that the ground has a lot of sunspots from the sun being filterd through the tree foliage. While she has none. I can see why you want the same soft light on her. But maybe you could try with some shadow patterns playing over her legs?
That's it. Really just some nit picking! Keep up the good work!
This is NICE. The colours are so dreamy. Love the way you rendered everything in this piece.
I spot oddness in the hand holding the butterfly, but since the image is so nice I won't bother saying a word ;]
incredible..fantasticly rendered..she's very curvy and the colors used for the background is truely awesome especially the light popped out from the trees..the mood is great either~!.
anticipate to see another of urs![]()

Thanks for the crits and comments people. Yes it is quite a clichéd image genre, but that's all I was going for here. Nothing groundbreaking or new, just a pretty picture.
I'm working on finishing the piece and it's going to be a bit before it's completed. But, I'll be sure and post the completed image when it's done.
And for the curious here is the process: 5% real world drawing, , 10% Photoshop 7 , and 85% Painter 7. And no, I didn't paint every single leaf out individually. I used The Square Chalk Tool in combination with a custom paper texture in Painter.
not bad .....awesome work...just one thing ....the right arm has a tangent line connecting it with the lower rib cage under her breast ...fix that and its a great piece...id also add some leaf shaped shadows on her legs ...goOd work![]()
