if you didn't like it, why didn't you work more on it?
the left is feeling very empty.
maybe crop it where the horse ends?
the mask/shadow thing also needs more of a presence, i initially thought it was part of the castle until i took a good look.
Not too bad, its an interesting piece. But I think you should play around with atmospheric perspective and depth overall. Right now the mountains are the brightest and come forward the most, yet they are objects that should be way back in the distance.
if it's white wolfs "Exalted"
why are the solars right next to the dragonblooded?

What about the back of the book? the illustration goes to the back?.
It doesnt really work well, i dont think you planned really well how the illustration would work on the cover. The illustration is awesome of course, but graphic design wise its not that awesome, check the size of the little fonts, the "the" mixes with the other ones, that shouldnt happen, it looks like that the "the" "scaped" from the name of the series to the title of the book, you should use 3 sizes of fonts to set a correct jerarchy.
Also, you should have used a grid on the red stripe, check the logo of the bottom, its has its own margins different from the title, since its the same stripe they are on, you should have used the same margins to make a unity.
What is the background? it looks like a sheet from a notebook, i understand the red stripe, it has something to do with a kingdom and royalty, but the white textured/pattern background, i dont see what it has to do, maybe you should have used one simple color.
Mainly, it doesnt have a plan for the eye to travel the cover, i think.
I suggest, no offense, that you study graphic design a little, get some books about editorial design and basic ones.
Good luck.
i'm pretty sure the publisher is responsible for the logo, fonts, etc.
Mike just did the art- which I think looks great. i do wish it had less of the heavy shadows on the soldiers, as i'd like to see more of their figures.
