He who asks is a fool for five minutes,
but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.
Starting over.
hey dose, ncie sketches, can you bump the contrast up so we can see 'em better? Lookin' good!
-did you go to the cuse?
cheers, Oliver
hurricane- thanks for the welcome. Nice to meet you.
klinesmoker- I'll post more as I get them done & scanned. Looking forward to your comments.
Oliver- I did in fact go to SU- how did you know? As for the images- I bumped up the contrast some- hopefully they're easier to see now.
Those are great. Great sense of volume. Keep posting!

jens: actually, the images are fairly accurate on my screen- lately I've been sketching with a 2H and a very light touch. I have a naturally heavy hand so I'm trying to go the other direction for a while. Although, if you can't really read them properly I will definitely bump the contrast up.
in progress drawing of my fiancee- started on the subway one night and then kept going:

various stuff...
dose,
I like your name, first of all. I'm diggin on your sketches too. Keep it up! I really like the various sketches in the first image of your latest post. Good stuff. I'll be watching you...... in a non creepy way.
a quick ninja turtle sketch for a friend's birthday painting. We used to sit around and draw the turtles for *hours* when we were growing up together. With the movie coming out I thought it would be a good time to revisit the subject, for old time's sake...
A nice start to your SB! I like the life work. I'm assuming your subway sketches were quick... 5-10 mins? My own process is quite sloooow, so I'm always curious about the timeframes for quickies from life.

A portrait drawing:
reidaj: The subway drawings are anywhere from 1-10 minutes, depending on how long they're on the train and in relatively the same position (notice there are lots of sleeping people!).
Slav: thanks for looking, lol
A portrait drawing from David Kassan's class last night...
random & recent
Keep drawing and post more! nice stuff!
Random sketches. Will be posting a few more as I get them scanned...
A figure from a life drawing class a while ago...
A WIP I get to work on 5 minutes every 2 or 3 days:
hello,
i have visited your web site, and i must say your paintings are terrific. i mean i like them :) thanks for sharing.
cheers,
konstantin
your art is vary animated.
vary cartoony
Beginning of a large sketchbook dump- mostly drawings from the subway, stuff from my head, and composition studies.
My new job leaves me little time to draw and paint. So I've gotten very efficient at drawing in short bursts of time. The subway to and from work is my prime drawing time- it's even gotten to the point where I'm happy when I miss the train because it means more drawing time!
Also been experimenting a lot with Cambiaso-like cube figures, which has actually filled in a huge gap for me in terms of proportion and foreshortening. Also very useful for developing compositions.
Dump continued...
..and a few more
