    (- Quake Wars E3 Poster -)

hey guys, long time no post

Anyways here is a poster i created for this years E3, it was used as 14 by 20 foot poster on the Nvidia stand and also a smaller version for hanging up around the Activision and id Software booth.

unfortunately i had less than 1 week to create it so its not as dynamic as i would have liked it....but thats work i guess

sorry if you have seen this posted elsewhere,

    cheers

Very, very, well painted image, love it all. I can't see anything wrong with it, nice work!
Just curious, how much were you paid for it? Don't need to answer, but i'm just trying to get an idea for the future.

You know, I actually think that the contrast between the verticals (giving the piece stability) and the sheer bowel-opening destruction creates a lot of tension that works better than some guy whipping around in some unlikely pose. I know it can be cliche' in some instances, but here, it works.

And works extremely well. Fantastic image.

I think this is looking extremily good! Action, dynamics, lighting and so forth. I especially like the explosion with the flying tank! The only thing that I could possibly crit would be the Strogg in the foreground. He feels somewhat like a pasted 3d-model on the otherwise awesome painting. Perhaps you've simple rendered him that well! =). It might be the rimlights that feel as if they were part of a normalmapped 3d-model. I don't know. But IMO the strogg "pops out" too much. In fact now that I examine it even further, It feels as if the strogg AS WELL AS the ledge he is on is a spearate painting. Apart from the lighting, which binds them together, it feels a bit lonely in all that dark shadow in the background. That's my humble opinion anyways.

Great stuff Dan. I'll have to see if I can nab one of the posters like Jared's got. Then I'll steal your Cintiq.

Wow. That's incredible, especially for a week! Must be daunting to know your work's going to be printed that huge, but it looks like you packed in plenty of detail for it
