    Arakis is my grasp

    Hi

here is a painting i just finished, it was done with photoshop
if you are familiar with Frank Herbert's novel then.. you know who this is..

there are some glitches ..I know I dont practice enough but i think overall
    it is not too bad

    feel free to comment!

    cheers!

The hand and planet are well done (though the cast shadow on the palm doesn't look to jibe with the light shining on the planet and the rest of the cast shadows).

The face is where I'm losing the love. It looks like you had a reference for the hand, but not the face. It looks rather scrunched, perhaps in order to fit in the frame. There's also nothing about it that says "desert person". The absolutely smooth skin, the moist lips just don't make me think Arrakis. And with regard to the shoulders, the small highlights make then seem very thin (back to front). This also detracts from the feeling of a strong, capable guy.

Some very cool things, but a few detractors.

Yeah the hand works better than the face, and the blurry starfield isnt happening yet either. Love Dune though so any reference gets my support.

    this looks sharp.

all i can really offer is a matter of "taste", as opposed to accuracy.
    here is my 2 cents:
