    Velocity; Thanks dude! Crazy love!

    kidult: Thanks man!

Nettle: Hey there fellow artsronaut. The beast guy with the armour's called walberg and he's an old design indeed. Very sharp!

rumpenstiltzkin: Yeah, that bird girl pic has potential. Should really finish that. If only feathers weren't such a pain to draw

yong: The angel and devil is also a way overdue pic waiting to be made. What if i actually started on that .... ?

SnobbyOo: Thanks you very much for posting, but in all honesty, that must be the freakiest comment i've had ever!

Okay, the next pics are more ideas for things than anything else, and old ideas at that, but i think i'm almost starting to be able to draw them they way i'd like to draw them. I think one with the witch was the most successful, maybe be a good idea to start a series with pin-ups? Sort of à la Matt Dixon, but with smaller breasts :p

I like the sketches but to me they seem flat sometimes. There's a lot to look at and a lot of characters to see!

cout>mecha: Flat in which way exactly? I think you're talking about the rendering, i skip corners there sometimes. Well, a lot really.

    TomDeVis: Thanks man!

Here's a few sketchbook pages. Does anyone want any fanart done? I'm feeling like doing fanart lately. Please PM if you have a good idea

The two main characters in that last pic are looking slick. I'd recommend trying to keep your paper cleaner and actually scanning / slightly photoshopping the image quality though. While these are just sketches, it definitely makes them easier to look at if they're presented more cleanly, just makes the eye rest on the image a bit better.

I have stepped this way (please) again, and it's pleasing in here Concepts are fun and nicely thought out and done.

Looks like you have been preparing for the season of the witch to come (cool).

Haven't seen the multi-limb practice stuff you did a while back (was that you?) Overall the pencils are nice, but I'm dying to see more of a confident stroke from you. Do you get a chance to do short-pose gesture drawing at all? That there will twist your mind (in a good way) and train your eye fast.

Anywho... looking forward to the next update.

BlightedArt: Thanks man, i'll keep your advice in mind. That was the last time i bought an A3 sketchbook mind you. Nothing but trouble scanning/photographing.

rumpenstiltzkin: Yeah, i'd love to see them finished too

p sage: Heh, season of the witch Bet your ass i be drawing some more witches this month; i'm an october boy after all. About quicksketches, i've done a fair share of dose, though it's been some months now since i had the chance for 'em. I think i'm reasonable good at that, but so far i haven't been able to transfer that skill when it comes to more finished or detailed sketches. I also have to add that a LOT of erasing was involved in the drawings from the last few posts. Guess that shows huh?

Nettle: I never did get round to finishing the last one right? But okay, load up some new thumbs in your thread, and i'll pick one, and you can pick one of mine, and i'll give it another go. Deal?

This was fun to do after a while (thanks to p sage for the suggestion ) Not all of them are equally succesful, but i don't have anything else to show so there you go. Also, i have a strong feeling i've already drawn several of these before.

I'm enjoying those lines on the characters, but as far as the studies go, not all of the lymbic combinations are working for me perspectively. Perhaps try a sequence of studies side by side. As a study or composition that technique tends to look pretty flappity. Overall, waiting for the next big one.

Walnut, thanks so much for your kind words on my sketchbook. Your stuff, especially your figures, are excellent and full of life! And awesome work ethic too, something to aspire to for sure.

As for your question on what is from memory or ref, I'm gonna be a little long winded here. I really, to be honest, don't think those questions matter, as long as you're gaining the knowledge of form and structure. 90 to 95 percent of my work and sketches are done from ref, but not just copying a photo; I use ref for everything but I apply my own artistic filter to it and blah blah blah you know I feel, personally, that if I don't use reference I'm not improving or learning, I'm only spewing out what is in my brain, and I always wanna learn so I'm always using ref, especially from life.

I'm not ranting at you or anything, so please don't take it that way! I'm just sharing my personal opinions with you

Anyway, awesome studies and I can't wait for more! Those multi-limbs are very graceful

Edit: Also, OMG I JUST FOUND THAT SAME FFX TOY (the one on your previous page) IN MY BASEMENT LIKE 2 DAYS AGO! What a coincidence. Oh the memories

    MacTire: Thanks!

rumpenstiltzkin: It's cause the love the female form so much myself :p

fernteixeira: No, i'm just in touch with my feminine side. I think ....

p sage: That one was for you, kid.

    Nettle: I dunno. Chinese import?

Cout<mecha: Was thinking of doing that kind of study. With multilimbs it gets hard to see the forest through the trees sometimes. Also, i don't know what flappity means exactly, but i'm assuming not good?

Ixius: Thanks for posting back here! The reason for my question in your thread was because i felt strongly that a lot of observation had gone into your figure drawing. And that's always a good thing, whether from memory or direct reference doesn'st quite matter in the end. I'm impressed anyway. Don't be afraid to share your opinions either.
Which toy are you referring to? The iron giant? OR any of the other ones? They're fuckin' cool aren't they?

This the last batch of these multilimbs, i got carried away with them, but now it's time for other things. Hope you like some of them.

I really liked the thumbnails and multi limbs! I think I'll do some of those myself. You draw great poses and emotions! The Halloween pics are looking cool too, I like the witch in the second to last one a lot.
Edges are supposed to be harder in light so I think the light edges of your skeleton guy's nose and cheek bone should be harder, unless I'm missing something.
