    hey ,
I like the longer ones, i think some look a bit stiff , maybe try being looser with your line .

Two models sounds fun. You didn't go backwards. I actually think the proportions are much better. Bridgeman is a good teacher Keep rocking.

guitarjames: Oh ok, I usually get hung up on trying to get the proportions right.
    Fishspawn: Ahh I see .

Well I finished 2 assignments today, and also ended up hitting an art slump again. So did some random drawing to loosen up and unwind, used refs for animals. Gotta dedicate some study to animals, as I pretty much have never drawn them. (pardon the bad animu).

I can sympathize with the animal drawings. I'm taking a class now, as a matter of fact, where we are animating both humans and animals, and the animals are, shall we say, a slow crawl for me. Haha.

Stuff looks great. Keep drawing through that funk - we can't all be awesome everyday.

Ah yaz. Animals need practice. I'd recommend the book Drawing Animals by norman adams and joe singer. It's got excellent animal anatomy and gesture reference, as well as techniques on how to achieve fur/scales etc. Keep churning them out.

Very nice work. I love your scenery and anime style. I would love to see more of it. Did I read somewhere that you were doing an animation?

the bird studies are looking great , the one in the top left looks a bit off , maybe adding a wing in would help that,..

Arekkusu: Ahh thanks, enviros seem to be the easiest thing to draw for me.
Slash.exe: I made a motion graphic thing on page 2 or something, but I plan to make a short animation next year.
guitarjames: Yeah, had to start somewhere. Gonna try to work my way through most creatures.

Well I had work the whole day(part time computer tech, oh do I hate it! wish I could get payed to draw), and then assignment when I got home. So hence bad update today... I'm sorry, just tired and... well no excuse I know.

Ooh good stuff, loving your environments... They've all got this dreamy feel to them that I really love, very inspiring! Also liking the guy on the stones and the little watercolour tree in your last pic - so clean simple and lovely. Great stuff, keep it up :D

guitarjames: Yeah that drawing with the girl is horrible -__-.
redbutton: I love day dreaming, so maybe that's why XD.

Ok some more animu from me! I know I know, but drawing this made me happy, I'll draw up and enviro for her tomorrow and colour it!

    hey ,
hit and run: the right leg looks odd to me almost as if it is broken, maybe bring it forwards more and rotate the foot to the left , for when you do the enviro.

Koh: I'm forcing myself to draw full body characters now days.
guitarjames: Did you mean her right leg? cos I slightly fixed it, well I think I did.
    Fishspawn: Yep, redid the eyes.
bouroune: I love mononoke hime and spirited away, so maybe that's why

Ok I kinda had another idea for the enviroment initially but yeah got another idea today too. The big problem with this one will be hair as there won't be such a big wind in an enclosed space as such. So gotta draw a more open air enviroment tomorrow.

Yo. Whatever enviro you put her in, don't do it in the dead center like that. In the sketch she was on one side of the page - it was much more interesting. Putting her in the middle flattens the enviro i think. Keep up the good work.

That last enviro w/character is looking good. It's nice to see you integrating figures in your enviros. Agree with fish about the placement of the figure, try placing it on the left line of the thirds, and maybe raising a little so his head falls on the intersection of that leftmost vertical third and the upper horizontal third. Well, that's supposed to be one of the most active spot of a composition, or so they say
    Keep it up!

I guess you may have never been to NYC living in Australia, but the narrow areas channel wind and actually make the gusts worse, so that could work. you'd just have to show debris being blown too, as no city is ever clean enough to not shoot stuff all over from the wind. As far as having the figure in the middle, if that's what you really want, then try to change the background so she's not in the the symmetrical center of the enviro. The negative space around her is roughly equal on both sides. It's tough to make a central comp work, but trying can make an interesting piece. Or you could just move the figure and no more issue. Looking good.

guitarjames: Haha that would be out of place too.
Fishspawn: Hmm yeah, center not best idea - that was only an idea rough.
fedezz: Yeah the golden ration rule. I gotta learn a way to bend around it but (gets boring).
Blue Severin: I'll play around with that enviro and try to make a central comp work. Think would be a good exercise.

Well this is my second idea (I have a third but it's too boring), I think I will stick with this one - heavy inspiration from empire boy XD. I'll use the other one for something else, or maybe alternative version.

hehe, I think she might be too the left a little bit too much in this one. it could probably use something to guide the viewer across the picture too, like a fence or poles or something. Otherwise it looks like a damn good start.

Wakkawa: Ahh ok, gonna fix that next wip update. I mainly wanted to get some forms working at this stage.

Well life drawing from today... *sigh* guess another bad day. Next week is last time for this life drawing drawing group, guy who runs it is going away and it won't resume until march next year... so I'll be on a look out for a new one, hope I can find one.

I don't like these at all, the roughs look better for some reason.

Great stuff all around. I especially like this piece.

I'd love to see it more polished. The first of the last three figures is my favorite of them as well. Great stuff, keep up the clearly very hard work.

Hey rayk, those roughs do keep getting better. I think on the longer poses you are trying to be too "finished". As fedezz told me, after you get the proportions and values in, then you add in the loose gestural lines to your finished pieces. I'd also reccomend using charcoal and working on as big of paper as possible. Good luck finding a new group, it's helped you immensely already. Keep it up.

Fishspawn: I'll prob start drawing from photos while I look for a new group (I'll need to find something convenient like last one).
guitarjames: I really dislike that conte stuff.... >>

Do you guys remember that mushroom enviro? Well decided to finish it off, still working on the colour pallet for it though. Seems like it's been half a year since I drew it.
