alrite thats it! you've inspired me to create my own SB! maybe I can evolve as fast as you did! ._.
Camara: Thank you!
SAGIR: Cheers, I usually use a combination of custom brushes and straight painting leaves which I duplicate to generate vegetation.
Punchy: Nice to see you again!
gep: Hey nathan! Thanks for that, I understand what you mean now. I'll probably revisit it again sometime in future.
ajvenema: Thanks. Characters... well haha I should do some that's for sure. I haven't done any for a while since I get absorbed doing enviros orz...
Idiot Apathy: Hi Tom! Always working on trying to suck less
Jelluh: Haha, welcome again!
Delmar: Cheers! Yeah I'm still playing around with that technique, will try to be more careful with structures.
petitemistress: Glad you like my SB! I'm sure you can evolve even faster(I'm a bit of a slowpoke)
Well.. Update on the Ancient Sewers.. should I call it done? I feel like I can keep working on it indefinitely.
This weeks EOW - Woodland Mouse House. Didn't turn out so well, but I still had lots of fun (and you learn more when you make mistakes or things don't go to plan).
Thanks again everyone for you kind comments! I really appreciate it![]()
dang man, your stuff is looking awesome. On the last one, the foreground root looks a bit flat, as the lines wrapping around it and the shading aren't working to give it 3 dimensions. But the rest is sweet, like the one with the two pipes.
You're an artist, not a meat camera. -Elwell
ancient sewers. man, the swell is sooo bad! Love the little dudes, think it has a great vibe over all. May I suggest you stop drawing environments so I can catch up? no? guess I better get my ass in gear!! doh! ^___^
great mouse house man =P
holy HELL. I was looking at some of your stuff from 2006 and you have turned into a MONSTER. Awe inspiring, man.
how's it hanging in the land down under?
You're an artist, not a meat camera. -Elwell
You, sir, are an environmentalist.
A really, really good one! UPDATE.![]()

Blue Severin: Cheers for the crit Sev, I fixed it up. Life has been great, thanks for the little bump/nudge.
Punchy: Hey ya, I'm trying to work on some character stuff now. Still do enviros though
Hyptosis: Thank you
Lake: Thank you, I hope I don't let you down.
IanE: Cheers, here's an update :3
I'm sorry for not updating in a while. I finally moved out of my house and moved down to Canberra, so I've had some busy times of re adjusting and what not. So I didn't have much time to work on personal stuff. I've settled down now, so hopefully I can start updating again. Thanks again for popping in!
CRITS ALWAYS APPRECIATED!

ohoho, very cool, dude!
Your enviros rock!
And you're waaay underrated!
Oh my God....
Dude! You are amazing. Please tell me that you're doing this for a living. Station Complex kinda thing is especially awesome... haha I don't know, can't find words. keep it up![]()
Hey rayk, great updates! I really like the Station Complex enviro, great design and layout to it. I think it's a nice contrast to the "fail" environment you posted up before it; the Station Complex and the Sargent inspired enviro have a certain simplicity in their central ideas, while I think the other environment is a bit too busy overall. Things you may have already looked over, but it's good to figure out exactly why you feel it's a fail, eh?Outside of that, nothing I can really see to try and crit; you've developed a great style and process, and it's lookin great!
Keep up the good work!

FAIL extreme! you totally failed to suck, try harder man. Great shit you've been hiding.
You're an artist, not a meat camera. -Elwell
Holy crap man! you're getting insanely good, insanely fast!
Of all the things you've done and practiced since you started this sketchbook thread, which do you think have helped you the most?
you are kicking ass man.
only thing i would suggest is getting more specific. push the details in your environments. dont let the focus fade.
sometimes all the atmosphere makes the most important parts seem lost in the haze
geeze man, you're getting intense, I don't feel comparable anymore X_x
good work =]
Hideyoshi: Cheers Hide!
algenpfleger: Thank you algen, I think your rate of improvement is much more amazing then my crummy work. Yeah I've been working for nearly a year now.
Onir: Thanks Onir, I've felt the same - too busy and sloppy. Been working on keeping things simple now days (canned a few wips in progress ^^").
Call0ps: Cheers
IanE Glad you liked it, thank you.
shou': Yeah Sargent is amazing, love his stuff.
Clochette: Thank you, there is certainly alot to learn from the masters!
Blue Severin: Thanks Sev, still feel like I fail - even fail to update in timely manner (。_。)
JohntheBomb: Thanks! Hmm, it's hard to say exactly what, but I think what helped me the most was - life drawing, colour studies and trying do something different with each new work. I guess trying to always polish up on the fundamentals.
roidvoid: That's certainly true, cheers
Hyptosis: Thank you!
Wow, thanks for all the comments and feedback comrades!
Sorry for not updating for a while, I was thinking of updating in big batches but I think I'll just stick to 2 or so things so it can be a bit more frequent.
Also I've joined CGHUB so feel free to add me- http://rayk.cghub.com/
Anyway, here is another Sargent study (more to come)
Been trying to do more character work to balance out the amount of enviros I do. So crit it away!

Phew, so you are professional. I'd have kinda been a little depressed if not
Damn nice character work in the latest update =_0 Is there anything you're not good at?![]()
