    Eh up Anders

Wow! He-a-uge improvements going on here man! Loving the latest updates

#446 I'm really impressed, your anatomy is alot clearer, studies are paying off and as always I'm jealous of your costume designing..also you've captured movement nicely in the tomahawk dude.

As for the colour studies #449 yeah! that's it! keep it up - Trying to think of peeps you can study to get more of an understanding..I keep remembering impressionist portraits or pointelism..there you can see all the different colours they use in their unblended state...some use aloooooot of colours!

...I just googled 'impressionist portrait' and got a few interesting ones

    keep practising :A

Thanks. I changed the face when rendering, but hopefully it works as well.

    ---

Like I said, she changed during rendering - got a bit younger I guess. Maybe she lost a bit of character because of it... I dunno.

The eyes seem pretty much the same shaped, so it's ok.
    Different, smaller lips though...

Anyway, i think the flow isn't to smooth.
The torso has one pose, and the neck-head seem to have another, making her look stiff too. Pelvis seems a bit small too, making her seem off balance.
That right shoulder doesn't help with the balance either. Really low and flowy...and then we have that right hand

Was a bit picky today. heh~
    Hope you don't mind.

    Hello

The girl is looking good, I agree with Black Delphin about the pose being off balance, I reckon if you try bringing her legs to the left a bit more, and her head that might help..hhm bit of a difficult pose, is she walking up to knock on a door? Can't really tell what's she's doing so it might help to put a background in then her pose will make more sense.

Liking the ugly/charming guy, I think you captured that quality right, the uni-brow is a nice touch

Sorry for the extended absence, I have no excuse.

chuck18mp: Wow, I dunno what to say! That is really great to hear. Even though I haven't updated in a while, I still read your comment and it was a real confidence boost. Thanks!

Blackie: No I don't mind, I love it! Bring it on Thanks for the crit.

    Thanks zerdron.

Wolfbane: Hey, I remember! Cool to see you around again.

Angel: Thanks Angel Yeah, I guess the pose doesn't really make any sense right now. I was sort of thinking she'd rest a weapon on her shoulder and dragging something heavy behind her, but really it was just an excuse to do a costume design, so I didn't really think the pose through too much.

Thanks zou I was planning on some scars, just haven't gotten around to it yet.

good work on those poses, and good rendering
one tip to take them further: try loosen your strokes more !

the first stading figure: it seems balance a little bit off.
    keep the good work !

Figures look nice, but i think you're over blending them somehow. Try working in bigger blocks, and keep them that way along the way.

Hello Hai Nice to see you update again. nice studies I agree you could try loosening up on some of the rendering but that will come more with practice, as well as nailing those pesky proportions, nice progress so far

Lovely costume design there Hai, and great linework , really like it.

I think that if you're planning to finish her off her proportions aren't reading quite right, her neck is slightly too thick for her head and I reckon her head could be reduced a bit too. Also her arms and hands a bit too small and thin, and her waist needs to be a bit thicker or the padded belt needs to be thinner, the line on the outside of her right thigh goes from the outside of the belt line and it makes her bum look padded. Other than those nit-picky things it's great, keep it up, wanna see more

I also think her outfit is really awesome!
Yes, there are some proportions issues, but you're so far in details and everything there's nothing you can really do i think..without falling into depression that is lol
In any case, i think you should do some basic proportion-flow sketches before you really start laying out the idea like that.

It's good, but why not make it better?

    Cheers

More please! Those characters are getting better and better, you're not afraid of putting in the details and trying out interesting shapes and concepts. It's just too rare! By doing a lot of sketches really allows you to loosen up and get a stronger feel for what you are drawing. Grind your way trough sketches and studies and all that. Don't hesitate to just.. draw stuff.. all the time. Don't be afraid of crap sketches. By just wading trough piles of those you'll pick up skill along the way. You may not even notice the improvement until you suddenly see some small gems in your work. Keep at it! its worth it.
