    ConstantinD. - ... drawing of a beginner

Hi, today I start my sketchbook at conceptart. I'm 18 and a real noob in drawing.
Maybe I'll become better with your help.

    I tried to scann...any tipps ?

a fighting machine without any proportions. (Plz help me to improve also my english ) i drawn(?) it yesterday

a old weapon i drawn(?) last week; influenced by the film desperado

two uzis (cause of "el mariachi")

I would be glad about any critics (is that the right word ? ^^)

good beginning ! your first study is good .
Try to study different thing, not only weapons or insect, study from anatomy books (loomis & co) , seek tutorials in the forum , see and analyze other works than yours , draw , draw , draw, draw , draw , may be draw more , and you'll improve

the insect is quite nice !!!!

Maybe you should try to be more loose with your lines, don't be so hard and rigid with them.
Most of the artists I admire (and there are quite a few of them in this forum...) paint and draw very loosely, like it doesn't seem they erase anything, they just leave it there and our mind picks the "best" line to see, know what I mean?

anyway, this is one of my problems too.....but nice start !

The proper English (since you asked) would be "I drew it" not "i drawn".
But you drew it very well.
I notice that your dragonfly is the best piece and is also the only thing you drew from life or from a photograph. Take some hints from that.
It's great to make things up out of your imagination, that's what concept artists do, but it's a good idead to be looking at something real while you draw to guide your ideas.
If you don't have a real gun or a picture of one you might look at a drill or cake mixer just to see how the shadows on the pistol grip would look.
Look at a piece of pipe to judge how to shade the cylindar of a gun barrel.
Look at some construction equipment or other machinery to make your robots look more realistic.
Trust me it will help with the drawing and will inspire all kinds of new ideas as well.

    Hi thx for your respones.

@Shylone_Breath: Ok, I'll try to draw in every situation of my life ^^
On weekend I'll drive to Munich and buy a real sketchbook.
What is a good size for it ?
Ah, what is Loomis ? I searched for Loomi with google and
found something about Andrew Loomi. Can you post a
    link to a shop ?

@odedenator: it's nice because you don't know the original picture ^^
yeah i know what you mean. i'll try it in my next studies.

@Gilead: Yeah my dream is to draw just out of my imagination
if i take something what i want to draw, where should i place it ?
a few cms away or rather 2 meters ? ^^

Here are just a few things drew out of my imagination, but I didn't respect your advices bebcause i didn't read them. now i'll try them.

Hi costantine, where are u from??
I must quote what the other guys here told you: draw a lot, draw from life as much as you can trying to see shapes and shading the right way.
You could take a look at the book " drawing on the right side of the brain" of betty edwards. I really enjoyed that book, I think it's really helpfull for beginners.

To improve your line quality you should try to lock your wrist and only move your arm. Practice this technique on large sheets. Anyway somewhere in this forum there are very usefull threads about improving line quality.

    Keep on sketching, see you!

Its pretty sh*t, an it took me quite 60 minutes. And its only a copy of an existant drawing.
