Very nice dude! I like how soft those portraits look and then you have some big sharp areas that punch out those features!

Really awesome stuff! The expressions and gestures in your figures are very convincing! Makes me want to try out your methods.

How about a sensual smirking lady?

fantastic faces and gestures. You are able to draw a dynamic figure, and line of action just stands in each one of them. great work!

Bendragon- Thanks buddy! =) I try to lead the eye and create some focus points.
Agelaos- Thanks! =D I´ve still got tons to learn! Edges are so wonderful =)
Traveler- Thanks! Yes!! Awe, that´s a great expression. Haven´t done that before =) I´m attaching the sketch here in this post. Extra stars and cookies for you
YihyoungLi- Thanks! The key is acting A sensual expression is a great idea, but I´ve done it before (a couple of pages back). I try never to do the same thing twice unless I feel I have something new to add or learn. Maybe next year =)
Ivan Turcin- Thank you very much! That´s a wonderful compliment, since that´s what I´m practicing most. =) I need to become a better storyteller though...

Sooo, 2 more rendered. Like 95% finished? Still might polish them slightly. And also a sketch of a dude in awe, thanks to traveler for the suggestion =)

    Thanks! Take care =)

Haha, the girl who's in awe is so funny , your rendering skills are great, the faces of the characters look so smooth. I would love to see one in color too. Also how about an expression of despair or crying . Keep on the great work.

Thanks D.C, though actually, She´s kinda meant to look plain stupid, like a dumb doll =) and the one in awe is the fat guy. I meant for all of these to be in B&W, as a kinda sketch-rendered thing. I don´t have time to color them at the moment. Maybe I´ll do that despair thing (Great idea!!) in the future, though for now, I´ve got other stuff than faces to focus on. Thanks for the kind words.

Awesome spread! And great job on the expression of awe. I also thought the girl was a variation of the same. Looks like you have to work on your "dumb doll" expression. *laugh* Definitely an inspiration.

just have to say - you have some seriously cool character concepts and designs in here! I'm very jealous...

I'll keep working towards this sort of character design that you seem to do so easily!

    Yo nice stuff!

For this one, you could try reversing the sword and flower, with sword in hilt and flowers in outstretched hand. Maybe have two flowers though? Seems more interesting.

loving the work, lots of character, was really nice to meet you

id recommend trying to subdue some of your value ranges, and i say this to a lot of people - youre already aware of it to some degree but for example

    http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...pacePirate.jpg

in this pic u have basically the same value range of white to black on his face, his robot arm, his pouch, his belt buckle and the bandages on his arm. it would be a lot easier to read if you only used ur lightest value on the most reflective surfaces (metal) or the focal point.

    keep up the good work,

Howdy partners! =D Hope you all feeling good

So, I´m back from the Made workshop, a short vacation during midsummer in Dalarna, and changing apartment. Been a blast =) Made was great, learned new stuff, confirmed old stuff, gained more self confidence and exposed myself to critique from some of my heroes =) And I live to tell the tale

I got absolutely battered by the instructors for my poor presentation. I had only done colourprint on cheap paper here at work. That was kinda embarrassing and I wanted to melt through the floor =) But when they looked at it they said that they really liked what I was doing! Coro said that I could obviously draw! =D And Marco explicitly said that he liked my expressions. Wes Burt gave me some very good critique on how to handle details and make them tell a focused story. I need to see the details as parts of a whole sentence, not just words. Also, he told me what was missing in my portfolio, stuff such as process shots, and sketches from the ideation process. Furthermore he adviced me on using ref for tricky lighting and colours.

The instructors like my celtic gladiator most, and my "space pirate" the least. Ill do more stuff in that style

My old classmate, Dennis Chan, employed as environment concept artist at Crytek, told me to study movies, and incorporate more use of lighting to enhance the mood and character of my designs. Great advice! He´s awesome.

Also, I made a ton of new friends. =)

Sorry guys, to tired now to give individual replies. Will do soon! =D

Sketchy Sketches! (of doom). Nothing fancy.

Aaaaand a bonus! He´s very explicit. It´s also funny how they`ve put the lighting on the wrong side =D

Thanks for looking. Take care! =D

im jealous that you got to attend MADE. , i went to the last CA workshop (reverie) and can attest to how awesome those events can be. I can only imagine how Marko and crew set it up. And yes You absolutely CAN draw! and drawing is the foundation to any good piece, so having that solidly on your tool belt is a mark of art honor without a doubt. Everything else works on up from there. thanks for sharing some of your experience.
