    Dan Thankies!

    Food Cheers man!

Sparce updates as always... Got plenty of doodles and things as i've been trying to loosen the fuck up. I all too often end up doodling things that are awfully generic and stiff which is really frustrating. Its kinda like falling back on what im familiar with as opposed to trying out crazy things. Still, most of those are shocking so I wont offend people with those... instead I will post studies, har.

    My bad.

I see you suffer from the same issue when looking at your environments. Shame I can't give you any tips - we both just have to carry on pushing through.

And when were you concidering taking part in unearthly challenge. not seen you.

I debated it, but I feel as thought I would fall flat on my nose trying. So I watch insted

Hi man, studies are looking good, watch out with textures though, like the 2nd one from post #425. You're textures aren't in perspective, which makes your ground plane flat.

You have also some nice soft skin pieces, I think combining the softness with some hard edges will make things more interesting, you should give it a try .

Flash, Archi - Thanks a lot! Hopefully I will keep this shit up!

Lyno - Already did! haha, I started doing studies like this at the same time last year and I'd want to focus on eyeballing the actual colour and seeing how that'd react to colours near it n shit, so id paint at 100% with whatever brush I liked at the time heh. This sketchbook is like 4 years old now, wow.

Eiki Cheers, although most of it isnt knowledge so much as copying what i see haha, Gotta love rimlighting!

More studies and wow, 5 stars changes the amount of comments a thread gets, bit sad really hahaha. Go crit people!

Great soft edge/hard edge use in your studies. I should try that myself sometime

I love the green eyed portrait. The smoke looks great.

Elf, Bombur Cheers dudes! Yea, I love exploiting the way hard edges work, yay.

Jefffffff Its a neglected beast hahah. It'd normally die without comments so it's no surprise youve not seen it. That and i dont paint enough! Oorah. Kisses.

Righty, been doodling more than studying - Decided I would collab with someone who wanted to add a model to their portfolio, so hes critting my designs n shit and its proving really really fucking helpful. Yay for the polycount boards. Need to go back and try out some more interesting designs though as they lack character and personality.

good stuff, you've got an amazing grasp of color, Infact so much your forms aren't on par.
This isn't to say that its actually a problem, your understanding of form is great. But not on equal to your colors. Quite difficult to explain - hope it gets across.

Lovely works. Some really nice colours in here. I think you could experiment with edges a bit though, almost everything has hard edges in here.

Incin Yeah i get you on that and I've come to realise it more and more lately. Gunna go back and do some value studies and look at planes and whatnot again!

    nurray thankies

Fraser Hmm, ive experimented with edges a fair bit - if by that you mean softbrushes and whatnot - i had tendancy to alternate between the 2 in phases.

    Cold Cheers duder!

Kristo thankies, think ill be pickin up my sketchbook again soon as being at the PC is getting uncomfortable.

Minor update is minor! started tidyin up these turtles again after a good 2-3 weeks playing MW2. Considerin how much the game annoys me now it definately didnt deserve that much of my time haha.
