    Without Passion

Sketches for my assignment where i must illustrate a fortune cookie fortune, mine is --> "Without passion man is a mere possibility."

So here are some ideas. I took the whole thing rather figurative. First idea.

The woman and her frilly almost-falling-off dress are symbols of passion, as well as her being restrained symbols of possibility. The box behind her is a weathered bomb shelter window.

    Round 2:

Gone are the clothes. Also there is now a hole in her chest, also symbolyzing the lack of passion. She is seen deteriorating, as symbol of being unfinished, unfullfilled. She has little vid screens in front of her, kind of restraining her. Not sure about the arms holding her up.

    Part 3:

Now with gears. I like this one. Might combine it with #2. So yeah. Feedback? And i feel retarded, but how do i get the images to show up, vs. links? >.<

i really like the second concept, since it is very creative
but i would suggest you try some versions of these concepts from different angles also. (it is to my opinion that the straight on view combined with that pose is somewhat overdone; mix up the angles and/or the pose a bit and make things a bit more interesting)

that one's prolly my favorite too. and yes. now that i think about it, there's an air of the crucifiction about this. so i'll have to definately play around and make this different.

i just can't make it too crazy, since this has to be done with... scratchboard.

Hello, I edited your post so your images show up.
To do this, right-click on your image and choose "Properties."
Copy the address listed under "Location."
This is the address you should use when making your posts.

I agree, I like the second image the best. It is just more interesting to me to look at because of the way you made her deteriorating.

    best,
    emily
