    [An Elf in Trouble]

Hmm, i think this came out pretty well, elves are usually pretty alert but this one in particular is a little dull, even by human standards- this may well be his last mistake.

I'm planning to colour this properly with a dungeon backdrop and the monster looming out of the darkness, i want to create the sort of image that says 'Watch out behind you!'

You know, I was expecting to see a pregnant, teenage elf.

    My mistake.

The anatomy on this is poor, especially the arms. The "muscle lines" make no sense and the right arm has an elephantine elbow. The look on the face is nice and expressive, but it doesn't say "clueless" to me. He seems to be thinking, which implies some idea of how to do that. You could go with the dim-witted grin for really dense, or the suspicious shift of the eyes to his left (away from the dragon) to imply he thinks something might be going on, but has no idea what.

The dragon looks pretty cool, but the closed eyes makes him seem like he's singing some Everly Brothers.

My advice would be to get a pic of yourself for the face and pose and study some anatomy to get the musculature correct.

    I see you point(s)

I have yet to get the hang of anatomy and was wondering if anyone could post a good resource. (The muscle lines make me wince in retrospect.)

The dragon doesn't have it's eyes shut, it just has that 'glowing red eyes with no pupils' thing going on.
