Hey Concept Art,
Just recently picked up some Vans shoes. Pretty confident the material on these is canvas leather. Anyways - I am looking to customize these a bit. I purchased some fabric markers recently, but was wondering if these would do the job?
I don't really want to paint them, because in past experiences with painting sneakers I have had a lot of chips and cracks.. which is annoying. Can't rock the sneakers with cracks in the paint.
I was wondering if the fabric markers would be able to hold my design? Would this fade over time? Would the design hold up through the wear and tear?
For a summary of the design, the shoes are orange. I intended on doing a tiger stripe sort of design, probably encompassing the entire sneaker. Not sure if this information is valid in the answering of my question or not, but I figured I would share.
And, if the fabric markers will work on the canvas leather, what steps will I need to take? Do I need to throw the sneakers in the drier to remove any type of chemical resistants to paint or whatnot that came already on the sneaker?
Sorry for all the questions... just don't want to throw 45 dollars away on some lame looking sneakers. Help is appreciated!
