    War Allegory

    Hi there !

After a beautiful mess-up for my introduction, which I stupidely posted as a new thread, I'm still feeling so stupid^^, I'll now post you my latest artwork !

As I said, I'm a noob at photoshop*, and I have GREAT flaws at drawing. As you can see, perpective is screwed-up and anatomy looks somehow strange. Plus, inspiration is very "teenager-ish" (I guess there is a reason for that, I lmet you find it...) and theme is common.
So I'm asking for some criticism, to help me to improve !
I uploaded my picture with DeviantArt, so it could allow me to share my 1600*1200 version, I guess it is better for quality. Tell me if you have problem, because apparently, DeviantArt don't like me^^.
I only do mistakes tonight... I think I'm only good to sleep now...

*I begun photoshop by doing skins for warcraft 3, about 1-2 years ago... I was stuck with skins during more than 1 year, so I can say I begun "true" artwork since some month, with Rocktoons.com.

the first thing im going to suggest is to get an account to a online image hosting site like photobucket so you can post images directly to the post.

second id say (and i know theres many who will disagree with me on this) is to stay away from anything digital at the moment. mainly becuase your drawing skills are very beginner, and so is your color selections/ painting.

i know it may sound harsh, but its the honest truth. the best thing for you to do, it to start from the begining. draw from life as much as you can. start out simple too. you can pick up some white blocks and speres for very cheap at local art stores. they are extremely boring but they help a lot. also try to pic up some art books. Loomis and Bridgeman are both excellent choices.

    Thanks for replying

The thing is, I also draw a lot (but not since a lot of time) on paper, but I have not the possibility to upload these works as often as I want. So I'm also working in paralel the color and shading through photoshop.
I'll try to draw more IRL

Thanks for the tips, this wasn't harsh but constructive.

    Hi P!ns,

There is a thread at the top of this forum about image hosting, so you may want to check it.
Deviantart doesn't allow hotlinking, so we encourage members to find another place to host their art.
It makes it easier for other members to give you help and crits if your picture is actually in the thread.

With that said, I hope you enjoy your stay here--and show us some of your drawings from life.

    emily
