    First steps

    Hi,

I'm new in drawing and a friend has recommended this site and so I'm here.

I have hard problem to start in this area and so I want to ask if you have some tips how i can do it.

Here is my first picture. I dont know how i should continue, and I dont know how to go on to draw other pictures in different perspectives. Ideas I have a lot but I can't realize them.

I hope you can say me how I can start in drawing and maybe tell me how you started.

well, that looks quite a bad scan! (if it is scanned )

anyway, i guess the first step is to pick up any decent anatomy book, start practicing drawing from real life (just pick anything and start drawing it), and well...practice by drawing drawing and drawing. That's the only way to improve, keep drawing and if you really try hard, then everything you do will start to look better.

i agree with TheGnoll. anotomy is a very important aspect of good drawing. or just draw people when you are in a bar, or in the train.

Before you tackle the anatomy book, you might want to check out some tips for life drawing. I don't remember any names now, but if there's a proper library near you, you should go and check out what books they have. There are some little "tricks" to life drawing (say drawing a closed shape instead of the parts that make that closed shape and such) that ease the perhaps scary task of drawing any life object. I was personally so scared I put life drawing off for really long and only really started last December. A Big Mistake!
Don't put it off!~~ I believe practise gets easier once you get used to it, and practise is what drawing better takes - start-start-start now!
