Calling all artists 25 and under

    Hi all
I'm the editor of ImagineFX - a new sci-fi and fantasy digital art magazine. More here http://www.imaginefx.com (but not much at the moment). I'm looking for digital artists who are 25 years old and under to feature in a 'rising stars' interview. This will consist of a 2-4-page feature on the artist showcasing 10 or so images and an interview.

If you'd like to be featured, please send me an email on [email protected] or post here. I'll need a link to your portfolio. Please bear in mind I can't feature everyone in the magazine, but we do have a free DVD every issue that your work can feature on if you're not selected for the print interview.

    Cheers
    Rob

OK, maybe I should elaborate. The idea is that the Rising Stars feature in the magazine is a young artist, just graduated perhaps. This is what I was specifically after...

However, we have interviews with all manner of artists, news on WiP and loads of workshops in the mag - so I'm interested in seeing stuff and hearing ideas from all of you.

I never meant to be age-ist

G'day, Love the look of your magazine and hope to buy myself an issue soon,
However i got some questions regarding the 'rising star' feature, are you concerned from which country the person comes from? And would you mind the work of an animator, or would you much more prefer static art?

    Thanks sciboy
The artist can come from anywhere in the world. We're a mag dealing with static art, so we wouldn't be interested in animations.
    All the best

ahhh yes,i have a quite similar question:
is the interview being made over internet?
are the pictures to be at a certain resolution?
    any mediums specifically?
how long is this open for submission?

    age-ism
I was going to call them on media-ism, being strictly digital (as I'm, sadly, strictly traditional). Anyhow, I'm sure you're going to end up with a huge pool of fantastic artists, you certainly came to the right place. When's the magazine due out?

OK, I'll try and clear up a few things.

The intervew will be going in a magazine with a large worldwide print run (although it takes a month or so to be exported to the US).

The interview will be conducted by one of my staff either over the phone or via email.

Images will need to be print res and large enough to be impactful on the pages of the magazine. Details of where to upload the images will be supplied.

If any of you are interested, please contact me direct on [email protected] and I'll try to answer individual queries/questions the best I can.

    Cheers
    Rob

Issue 1 should be in Borders or B&N now. Issue 3 is about to go on sale in the UK - but as I said, it takes a while or us to export it. Issue 2 should hit US shelves soon.

Rob, my apologies, i've been riposte-ing with a bit of an artNazi in another thread and i guess i had a bit of head of steam still built up. still not convinced that "Rising Star < 25 years old" is a valid equation, but your "feature a young artist" clarification is more understandable.

No way, Corriero's only a year older than me? He speaks with such authority... I should have learned my lesson with the Madster's-a-girl shocker though, never assume anything about anybody on this board. For all I know, you're all just one dude who has way too much time on his hands

Thanks to everyone who emailed me etc - I'm busy looking through them all today and will be in touch.

On a separate note, if anyone's got ideas for workshops in the mag/features etc please let me know (via the same email address). I do have a good budget for workshops and commissioned images to go with them.
    Cheers
