Let's see some more full body from-life studies!
You should focus on black/white value before going to color. A trick to color is to take what you're working on and change it to grayscale to get a feel for how you translate your sense of light/dark into color. It's not a perfect conversion, but it's close enough for reference.

You are making nice progress. And your colors are getting pretty pro!

Latest incarnation of the Big Bad Wolf. As pointed out by others, I think I need to do another rework and fix the top teeth. They seem too straight and not curved enough to give the illusion of depth. Also, the blood needs to be thinned up a bit.

Level 10 Gladiator: Equites
Dayum, that came out a lot better than I thought it would! Curving the top canines was an effective choice. Tiny things that would help: making the light to dark transition on the back of the tongue a little slower, and perhaps bring the darkness forward a little bit; lowering the values of the back of the snout (closer to the eyes) as its farther away, just very slightly darker; cropping off a bit of the black space above the subject and blend the subject into the blackness more smoothly, or at least lessen the look of the transition as leaves.
If I were you, I wouldn't change it. Or, I should say, if I were me in your situation, I wouldn't change it, because I'm lazy. I don't know how lazy you are or aren't so I won't insult you.
