Hello everyone!
I've been considering fixing a sketchbook here for a long time now. But tonight i finally decided.
Why didn't i make one earlier? Cause i kept thinking: "I have to get better at drawing before starting a sketchbook"... Which is essentially really dumb. So anyhow, first piece.

you're making really nice marks, do you do woodcuts at all? if not, i hightly recommend giving it a shot. you'll love it. my one real crit is that the eyes on the full head don't seem like they're sunken in enough, pretty surface-y and the form of the ear is kind of odd. post some more stuff up.

great skull studies, keep going with them! I think you should do more stuff with real media instead of in painter though, you can allways come back to painter later with a strong foundation from real media.

Thanks! I will definately do more of em! And this time... with... a regular pen... and a paper.
Oh, well i dabble a bit in both actually. It's just that i can't work as fast in traditional. And it's expensive... But i love it!
One great thing i noticed though: after using Painter for several weeks and testing out many of the tools. Finding some i like and feel pretty comfortable with using. I got the idea to try something different in art class. I usually only draw with pen and paper. So i tried Pastels and the first pastel pic i ever drew turned out great! I believe its cause i could practice lots and lots of times in Painter. So i just used the experience gathered there and applied the same techniques and it worked fine!
Anyhow, some sketches i did two days ago but forgot to post:

What? Get better? These are already amazing!
Especially style-wise. You definitely have a style that's going for you - just need to develop it (as do we all). Definitely kickass style.

hey ogar, great sketchbook; you've got a really nice handle on painter it seems, all your digital work is looking really good. I especially like this last one with the guy in profile; the color choice and detail is great, and the only thing that confuses me a bit is his eye, feels like that's a rather extreme angle for his eye to be at (I could be wrong though ). great stuff though, keep at it!

I'm gonna try to studie some vehicles to get better at that... And i'm gonna try to design at least 1 character, 1 environment, 1 vehicle and 1 creature a day. Let's see for how long i can keep up. :]

Im not much of a fan of your use of the chalk brush however. Its grainy but its personal preferance I guess. Love to see more of those studies.

Love the studies and digitals - you really have a good eye for colour and light, and far better eye to hand control then eye - cheers.
