    Somewhat Random Sketches

I've been looking through other people's sketchbooks for awhile, and they're... slightly intimidating, to say the least, hehe. However, I've noticed a lack of improvement in my own drawings, and I was hoping to get some suggestions here. Thanks in advance.

A couple of my sketches that were made in the past couple of months:

I apologize for the lines. I've got other sketches without lines that I've yet to scan.

Heh, I finally found time to scan in some more sketches.
Jason C-M suggested I practice with tracing overlays. I'm not sure if I did it correctly, but this is what I ended up with:

By the time I realized I should check over her face with a mirror, the magazine I used as a reference was overdue for a day. I returned it.

A painting I'm still working on:

i like the swirling mass of hair pen sketch you did.

I didn't have the chance to develop this one more. It was in the same overdue magazine as the previous tracing overlay exercise's reference picture.

Random monster I did after seeing a smear from a chalkboard brush on the blackboard.

Another update on my painting. It still looks a bit drab to me. =\

    robin-eleven: Thank you very much : D

Imcomplete sketch. The colours (especially the background) aren't my final choices.

The beginning ideas of an intro page for a flashback in a story.

    Comments/Crits would be greatly appreciated.

Prophet: Thank you very much for your comment. If you don't mind me asking, which hair sketch were you talking about?

My art teacher finished marking my painting today. It was my first attempt at watercolour and landscapes.

Comments and critisism would be greatly appreciated. : )

Heh, this is my turtle, TipTip. I couldn't draw TupTup because it was sleeping under a rock.

The lines are kind of light. I was playing around with a 4H pencil.

Trying to get my arm proportions right.. The wings came after, because I thought I realized something about the relation between arms and wings. ..Guess not.

Another background. There's going to be a stand with candles in the middle.

Update on the previous sketch. Something about the lighting on top isn't too right.. I wanted to make him look like he's really deep in an ocean.
