That wooden figure really struck me, your light values are awesome. I like your style too, it's sort of classic.

Here's a concept sketch, it was supposed to be a human but changed because I started it really late at night. I'm not really sure what it is now.

This is a study from a painting Sargent did of his teacher.

These are just little sketches. Done very lazily.

Spencer, you've really developed an excited mastery of value (I need this). It's Miles. How do you start off a sketchbook thread? If you'd like I have some work on deviantart, http://peccavimus.deviantart.com/. Brilliant.

Hey Miles. Thanks for the comments dude. I checked out your deviant art, I was impressed by your work. I can see you like Gustav Klimt. I just recently when to LACMA to see his exhibit, it was really cool. Do you use the AIM address you put on DA? We should talk on AIM.

I don't have AIM anymore but I think this computer has some inherent messaging program. I'll try to boot that up. Yeah, I'm a great Klimt fan. I like that imbalance in positive and negative objects he makes characteristic of his work (like in the Adele Bloch-Bauer portrait at LACMA). Anyways, I've become interested in Sargent and continue to do those little value studies you saw because I need to see your shades. Talk to you later. -Miles

Get AIM booted up because that's my only way of communicating with the outside world. If AIM doesnt work try, Trillian, or using AIM express at aim.com. Gogo.

Just a question, do you get the white colors with a prismacolor? or is it done with something else?
It really pops out the drawing.
    Anyway, keep posting !!!!

Recursive_End- Hey thanks for stopping by again! Those white highlights are done with a white china marker (still like a pencil). I use them because I think the wax or oil in them lets me get brighter hilights than with a prisma color.

    From life drawing today:
