Very nice improvement here! Got no real crits, just keep doing what you´re doing, man!
Great to see your progress dude, keep us updated!
Thanks so much for the comments everyone. I really appreciate it!
Time to update, I have not updated in FOREVER, sorry about that. Finals and school and work have been so hectic. I have been drawing A LOT though. I'm still trying to get my pencil skills up. I'm glad that I am seeing improvements within just a few months. I have a lot more pages than this, but I didn't want to scan it all:

HaaaHahaaahaaaahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!! That's some insane rendering and....and I think it's rubbin off on me (the insanity). Welcome back Skeiff your still kickin ass my friend kicem till their black and blue. Where's the critique you ask? Well
honestly I think your learning lots and improving at a good pace so far, but i hope to see more digis if your in the mood to do some. Hope your finals are or were going or went well. Can't wait to see the rest of your pages and stuff. Hey there you are are you updating already?
Welcome back Skeiff i guess i wasn't the only one missing in action for a little while. Your rendering is tight!!!!! and i mean that both literally and in the slang kind of way. You have made huge inroads on your pencil rendering wow and you have also helped me improve although i have a ways to go. On my next drawing i'll take my time on rendering to see where i am. but good job here man good job. I cannot wait for another update and i now that its summer Get to work!! lol.
lovely, lovely update. definetely worth waiting for.
love your rendering and the linework and...well, everything. the leg study from life is my absolute favourite. looks so effortless. really great, skeiff! hope you have some spare time so we get to see more of you soon. cheers!
It is nice that you finally updated! The portrait of your brother is cool and you have made it in such a short amount of time! Everything except the portrait of your girlfriend is very good! I think that the jaw is too big and the angel is not quite right.
saw your avatar and liked the drawing so i dropped by your sketchbook, stuff looks good, I been doing studys outa that same bridgeman book myself as well.
even tho your main concentrations are on anatomy and light and form at the moment Id focus on composition as well. Cuz eventually the point of all this study is to apply it to the final product a finished picture. so try to treat every page as a composition. its a little difficult but it makes the pages that much more interesting to look at and you start teaching yourself about composition
Wow amazing works here !
speacialiy this one here http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d6...lcharcoal4.jpg

Nii: Thanks a lot buddy! Appreciate it. And finals went pretty good actually. (that's a first!)
Ashrumm: Thanks bud! You yourself are getting pretty fine with that pencil!
Stine: Thanks stine, much appreciated.
Ivan.R: THanks for the comments. Yeah I kinda messed up the jaw. but eh oh well, moving on to different things! haha.
KenDeathwalker: Yes that is very true, I REALLY need to work on composition. All my works have mainly just been drawing and focusing on how well I can draw it. Now I think it's at a point where I need to take composition into play. Thanks for the comments and the advice. Much appreciated.
Ledd: Thanks a lot! Glad to know you like them. Cheers.
Alright, sorry for the super small update this time, I have been real busy with work and actually haven't had as much time as I would like to have.

Hmmmmm.... a nose or a door knob perhaps. Good work so far on the wip, too heavy on the shadows in some places mainly the eyes. Good studies hope to see more laters.
Hey Skeiff welcome back buddy this update is large enough as long as you are updating. I really like your rendering wow. But one thing to keep in mind is if you are going to work on the whole head lay it out first before you get caught up rendering. But i think you know that and you are not planning on laying out the entire head like your avatar. Good stuff man your pencil work is really taking off.
hey skeiff! cool update! i really like the way you caught the light in the wip's left side eye. the only thing that bugs me a little is that the right eye is in the shadows and has the same values (or in case of the eyeball even lighter)as the one totally lit. don't know your reference and maybe you copied that correctly, but it looks a little strange to me. other than that again great rendering!
the public drawings are really nice. are you going to pubs and cafes to do them? see you around, til next time,
Nii: Thanks. Actually it's not too dark in real life, my scanner is a peice of shit.
stine: Haha the same thing bugged me too. I need to fix that.. and I usually do the public drawings in the Starbucks in our mall. Cheers!
After all my SSG guys have been doing studies of master painters, I decided to do one myself. I chose my favorite american master, John Singer Sargent and this is his painting of Emily Sargent.
I'm not NEARLY done yet, and I know there are a lot of mistakes because basically I've just blocked in and haven't refined anything yet, The only thing I have started refining is the front of the face. There are still a lot of things I want to change about the face as well. Just wanted to show you guys what I was up to last night at 5 in the morning!
Til 5 in the morning you say welcome to the club i've been up working late as well. Way to be Skeiff, Just make sure you get some proper rest. lol
Nice progress so far Skeiff, another Sargent as well, Very cool Looking good so far. I know you probably already noticed this but her ear is a bit small. Other than that she's looking great Cannot wait to see what you have in store for us next keep
Hi Skeiff! Nice study but the ear is really small and maybe you should make the forehead more big.
ashrumm: Thanks! and yeah I know the ear is wrong. It was just the blocking in phase.
Here is the final piece of my sargent study. I was going to add more detail to the clothes but I decided not to. I kind of liked it the way it is, and I wanted to keep a painterly feel. No color picking, I don't do like doing that..

great digi, skeiff! i think it was the right decision to leave the clothes the way they are now. draws a lot more attention to the facial feautures. really well done, especially because of the very difficult light in the painting. would love to see some more (but you should definetely get some sleep, man!)
Good on Skeiff. You must have learnt quitea bit from that study, hope to see more master studies. Laters bro.
p.s: So master studies are our assignments for now?
Thanks for stoppin' in on my thread man. Seeing the progress in here was cool, your life drawings and portraits are rockin', you are on the right track my friend. Great Singer study too. And only 18? No stopping you!
Very nice stuff here wow i am amazed it looks very good!! Way to Go Skeiff and i too agree that it was probably a good idea to leave out the details in the clothing. Good work cannot wait to see more from you. I am going to try and finish mine today I had way too much to drink last night, curse the tasty german brew!! Good work my friend keep it coming.
It is very cool now. You have corrected the ear and now it is great!
Well done! That study came out great! Solid work and studies all round.
Thanks for dropping by my SB!
Is the one nude drawing your girlfriend? =D They look kinda the same-
Nice book, got some solid stuff on here, keep it uuuuuuuuuup!
EDIT: It is isn't it? The have the same nose and same Lips! I guess you got a good likeness there then!
this is really good, you've made a huge progress through out the book.
Last digital looks fabulous, hoping you'll finnish it!
haha, I'll have to agree with pixel tho, the nude one sure looks like the portrait of your girl. betting it's the same.
all the best and luck!
haha, just to let all you guys know. THe nude figure is NOT my girlfriend. haha. My girlfriend weighs like 115 pounds and that model must have been 150 or so. I didn't nearly draw the model fat enough.
just wanted to clear things up!
Skeiff it was great being able to share an early-morning cab ride.
I like the anatomy studies a lot, especially the muscle schematics. Also that portrait of your girlfriend has a great value range.
Here's to Montreal!
Darktwin: Thanks a lot bud!
That fat kid: THanks bud, It was definately an honor to hang with the infamous fat kid. See you at another workshop! And yes i'll finish more of my pencil work.. it's a bad habit, I know.
easy tiger!: Yeah thanks for letting me come along! I'll see you at another workshop. Take care.
Mr.Blonde: It was nice meeting you as well. You have some solid stuff! See you at another workshop!
Ok here is one small page I started on my last day in montreal and finished when I got home. I Have SO much pencil work to scan in, and I really feel I have improved so much since my last pencil posts...and especially over the 4 days at the workshop (I look at my old pencil stuff and cringe haha). THe workshop was such a positive thing for me, I don't feel afraid anymore of the "blank page". I looked at the quality of stuff I posted when I first began this sketchbook compared to my stuff now and I feel like I have come a LONG ways in just 4 months. I feel really good about my progression so far and it will only get better from here..
I'll be scanning my other pages in later, but as of now I only have this one page I scanned in yesterday:
Sorry for the wesburt "blur" thingy, but I have never tried it before and I just had to haha. All from my imagination:
