Kei-th - thanks! as for inspiration, well there wasn't much for these... it is just what i saw while waiting to board a plane at the Dallas airport. The sketch of the beach was just from memory - it was where i went last time i was at the airport... and the other doodles were just something to keep me busy during the flight!

Cold - thanks man, gald you enjoy my scibbles.... they are kind of like notes to myself.... Also regarding th baggy jacket... I do plan on working on some clothing studies very soon! PS i really like your skecthbook, there is some real nice energy in your skecthes!

Hey rob, you're so persistent on your anatomy studies - I really admire that.
Can I ask which tablet you got yourself? I am looking at acquiring one myself and wouldn't mind some input.

Love your stocky tank in the last post. Do check in on my sketchbook and tell me what to improve for my possible entry in the EoW

Oh and where is _my_ coloured version of the bike, the red/vanilla? Tsk, tsk. Too busy drawing busty females, right...

why thank you wobot I like your strength in the lines you draw, quick simple and fast but effective, shows confidence, and i love that in a lineworker! Gregg Capullo of spawn comic can make pure masterpieces in seconds with lines drawn faster than any western cowboy!

some more male torso studies - the ones at the top were done with ref.....then i closed the book and did the rest..

still just trying to learn the major forms.... once i get a grasp on those, i can go in and learn more of the finer details!

    pen, about 1.5 hrs....

They are good! nice to see you working with muscles now!
But how can you draw something that you are still learning and don't do it wrong.. when I draw for 1,5 hour most of the images would be crap..
So how do you do it first make a pencil sketch?

The upperlegs (is that a word? dunno, im not english) on the last studies seem a bit too long sometimes tho

Lewis - thanks man! and I think you are right about the upper legs...good catch!

    Kei-th - thanks!

that's a tough question.... first thank you for saying that i am not doing it wrong, but there are still major gaps in my anatomy knowledge... as far as making the sketches look good... i will list some things that i think have helped me -

    1. i to only draw with pen, it helps you to think about your lines before you put them down... instead of erasing, I just draw darker or draw the image again and try to correct the part that i messed up....this can be difficult to do at first but it will build your speed and accuracy up.

    2. I have a pretty decent understanding of perspective which i think changes the way that you think about objects.... it also helps me understand reference material, i can understand the 3 dimensional relationship object have to each other...

    3. I constantly try to break down the shapes and forms of poeple i see in day to day life, plus I have been practicing every chance i get!

    Hope this helps!

    Kei-th:
I dont know about this, but you have posted more in this thread than Rob-ot
have, and you dont post so much out side this sketchbook..
You to know eachother or something ?
(both of you even joined at almost the same time, and have this style on your names ###-##)
since Rob-ot seems to be the biggest Idol in the world in Kei-th's eyes
just a thought ( hey I really like your work rob-ot, your god on this style! (even better than Zhu himself ))

Rob-ot Nice! The bottom left made me laugh!

    Dile
we don't know each other in real life and we also never spoke to each other besides this forum. So about the name and joining date is coincidence.
And yeah I know I posted a lot in this thread. But I just really like his style and I am a total beginner so I ask a lot to Rob-ot. Other people take ages to reply rob-ot doesn't.

Kei-th - thanks, but right now i am just trying to grasp where things go... Later on will need to go back and learn each area in detail!

Cold - right on, I am starting to understand... there are a lot of parts to make a person... I feel like i just scatched the surface!

Here are some female studies just incase anyone is tired of looking at men... I feel like i lost the rythem in my sketches/studies... i think they more are anatomically correct than before but they look kind of dead....hopefully this is just temporary....

pen and marker - about 2hrs

i love following your post, its always something to look at, but what my main concern is, you being compulsive.

What i mean is: My tutor told me the way forward is diggin many holes, rather than just one big deep hole, where u might lose yourself init. Anyway he calls it latural thinking(if spelled right(prolly not)). So many lil drafts, no final pieces...

I'd love to see a demostration of all your gained knowledge, through spending plenty of time and thought executing a well presented artpiece, that you know will wow us.

Cold - Thanks, I agree... I would like to do a finished piece.... I will have to find the time....and more importantly - an idea worth finishing....any thoughts??

For now though - just playing, wanted to sketch something other than poeple for a little while!

about an hour - pen and marker

The female study was great again! But I think they are more stiff compared to the old ones.
In my honest oppinion I rather see those environments and vehicles then male's and female's they are just cool!
I like the right top! Is it a aircraft fleeing between 2 buildings?
I also have a question about the airport images did you used a rule for those?? Your lines are very straight!

Cold - thanks, tank and sexy girl sounds pretty cool! I will start working on some ideas for a really cool piece that warrants finishing!

Kei-th - your right they are a little stiff... I think my new anatomy knowledge is clashing with some older bad habits... hopefully it will work itself out with more practice!

*I agree enviroments and vehicles are much cooler, but people make nice props so I feel like if i don't learn how to draw them properly, then they will only detract from a cool vehicle or enviroment....

*top right thumbnail - yeap, its was supposed to be 2 ships hoovering over an ocean with a couple smaller ships flying in between...

*the airport sketches - they are 90% free hand, after they were pretty much done i went back in with a striaght edge to tighten up some of the major lines.
