watch the width of your 3/4 faces...IMO they could just be a teeny bit fatter. nice interior, coulda made it look more 3d but it's okand IMO the green in your environ should be toned down, at least in the bg.

watch the lengths of your arms and how they bend and how they connect into the torso. the guy with his arm out wearing the armor on the bottom left...kinda looks like we're looking at his back. or maybe we are. i dunno.
more action poses!!!!!! don't let them stand around!

like the animal study...maybe watch how the tails coming out of the body. as for the paintings before this post...on the study you are using some diff colors but it seems on the face you're just using different lights and darks of the same color...so it looks flat.

cool work in this sb! you've been pretty productive. i love the quick thumbnails studies. the figures are looking pretty good. try to find some more dynamic poses. it seems you are focusing on the design of the character and their costume/ ect which is really great, the next step i guess is putting them in action. keep working harder.
take care
-ryan
Hp- thanks and yeah my painting skills/understanding of color is definitely a weakness
Ryan- working on that now man
here is some fun with a pen. I'll have more later tonight.

the shapes are blocked in yet not all the lines are sharp...so the clean look to the environ is kind of not even in the entire picture....also i think you really could add a lot more subtle colors to it so that it still looks mostly monochromatic but has more interesting things here and there for the viewer to look at.
i'm not really sure what's going on and the perspective looks a little off...
on one hand, i see the buildings and go, wtf is that for...is it all aesthetic or does it have a purpose...but then again i don't really involve myself enough to want to think about it. if you know what i mean. it's too empty for me.
don't wanna be mean...^^
i do like the designs in it...very original IMO but you could push this so much more with a few more hours.

do you have a tablet?
cuz if you do...then on your post 109, you need to refine your pressure settingsthe lines just look really jaggedy but not in a texture kind of way.

Hey unbreakable, nice sketchbook you have going here. Lots of improvement. I like the way you do faces and costumes. One thing i've noticed is that you really like detail, and you like to go into it as soon as possible. Try to resist this urge. Always think about your whole composition, and block in an entire drawing with mostly correct proportions before you even think about detail. Then, after you've put in your details, go back and check the big picture again for value/proportion accuracy. I think you can pull off a lot better work than you're doing if you just focus more on the big picture.
For example, on your latest enviro you started in color, and you started putting detailed shadows on the rocks before putting in other rocks. Try starting in black and white with very large brushes to get a good composition, and good overall values and dynamic lighting on the rocks. Then put a color layer over that and move into smaller and smaller details. And it's not just in your enviro, i notice that rush for detail in almost all of your work.
Keep up the good work, especially the life drawing, you're improving alot!
i don't know what kind of marker or pen you are using but for the second page of the last post - the one with the bold lines, you need to have some thinner and thicker lines...line variety. need more confidence in them too...i don't mind the searching lines you use for your drawings but the fact is, they're searching lines to help you find the shape...there is no reason to have "searching lines" with a inkover. i'm not sure what is behind the armor...feathers or hair or more armor...either way i think a client will look at that and think you have a very unsteady and unsure hand.
