LOL.. that dood with the pipe is fantastic Andy... Hey.. do you ever do any works out of your SB?? Im planning on moving out in June and am trying to collect some artwork from fellow CAers to decorate my new place with... I would love to have something of yours... 81/2x 11 or 11x 14? I would pay for shipping and any other expenses and could even throw in some cash for the artwork itself depending on how much your asking.. Let, me know.. Your art would be a nice addition...
Mainloop- man i must be dyslexic.. cuz i thought you asked how many people are on lsd

Andy, looking good buddy! Always surprises here. I think I might like the rougher version of the star girl which is probably what you're talking about, but they both look good. Can't wait for the next update.

agreed on that bottom one. you have a thing with patterns that are both flat/graphic and show depth.

I'm callin' for my orders, over...

Good stuff man, it warms my heart like a stove iron seeing you tear up sketchbooks. I'll probably have a go at a conceptart sketchbook seeing as how my javascript is flawed and most people can't seem to access the sub-menus on my site. Looking forward to the day when you start getting professional work and my soul will be torn asunder with jealousy and fiery determination.

Always love your sb! I think that chicken is getting some action from his gf! Ha!

Oh so the text is all polictial rantings? Which side? He he, I still strain my eyes and can't read what you are writing. Make them bigger!

I think you would love digital painting. So much quicker and not as messy, but the best thing about it is that you can do it when you wake up and have almost the same results as you would in real painting mediums. AND NONE of your sketchbooks would be stolen. Maybe the images, but that's about it. Little digi rant. On the downside, it's not something you can touch and feel, unless you like touching your monitor in that way. Ahem... anyways, thanks for sharing your fine art! Cheers!

Bojee- Thanks man, yeah, that one kinda just came together. I'm thinking that that's what I want most of my portfolio to looks like, just a tad cleaner, more involved, and more attention to details. Thanks for poppin in man.
Gspot- Thanks man, death metal just brings people together. Glad you dig.
mrgrumble- I'll see your sugar and raise you a cherry on top.
tensai- Thanks man, kicks in the ass are always appreciated.
naomiful- Gracias, yeah definitely paint up the ol moleskin, those suckers are more resilient than I had em pegged for.
bhanu- It was never my intention to fuck your mind, but now that I have I feel pretty good about it. Satisfied and a little dirty. And yeah, death metal, word. Thanks for checkin in!
pennington- Yeah, this has all been acrylic for a little while. Here are a couple of shots of my desk setup, where all the lovin goes down. Thanks for the kind words man!
chuckyc- Dude, you should definitely start up a sketchbook thread here, this place is great a great motivator and a great source of inspirado. Do it, do it. Did you hear anything about that Megadeth contest yet?
MattGamer- Ha, many thanks man. No, not all of it is political rantings, usually just when I'm in a foul mood. Most of it is just the banal minutiae of the day to day. And I lean pretty liberal, but I like to consider myself an independent, if it matters. I would definitely like to do more digital stuff, but the computer I'm using is a tad old, so when I try to paint in Painter or PS the cursor drags pretty hard and it makes me so frustrated I want to murder small animals. And that's no good. So I'm not opposed to doing digital stuff, I just don't have the setup for it right now. I do love getting my hands dirty when I paint though, I'm really a fuckin mess. I have very few shirts that don't have some paint on em. There's just something about getting your hands in there, literally having your fingerprints in the piece. And having a tangible original is a big thing for me. But I'll digi it up here eventually.

Woof, this was a real bitch cake. I spent hours fucking this page up, drawing something, deciding it was the worst thing ever drawn, painting over it, trying again and again. I bet there are about 10 or 12 layers underneath this piece of doo. I start asking myself "Why can't I draw? Could I ever draw in the first place?" and all that emo crap. Self doubt's a real sonuvabitch, I don't recommend it. Eventually I just had to abandon it, not something I'll usually do. But I know stuff like this is good, struggle means growth and all that. All the better for it.

Didn't mean to get all Livejournal-y.

Thanks again to everybody who pops in. You're the fuckin bling.

I'm inlove with those ink sketches Andy!!! So freakin beautiful!
I know that "I can't draw!" feeling sooo well... gets me every time I stop by here
I actually like that "messed up" page a lot, the texture is great in that one.

I totally understand the self doubt thing.
Seriously tho, dont worry about screwing up the pages, or having one of two dodgy pages in there.
From my understanding, art slumps usually end in improvement of all things.
From my point of view your doing a rediculously good job, and everything looks bloody great

ooo beautiful. i love the green underpainting for the shadow on her arms and the rendering of the guy is wicked awesome. actually the live journal piece, i really like it. it flows well with your moleskine and if i was looking through it and i saw this page there would not bad a bad thought to enter my head. in fact it has some great emotion in it and i think maybe that came from the tough time you had. at least you worked it up for a few hours. that's really something i need to start doing in my drawings, clean them up. oh and thanks for the setup pics

Andy- Damn dude, you still haven't got that portfolio together! If you're still feeling like you don't want to be out there then I totally understand, but your more than ready. You should be working if you want to, you've just got to get your work to people...Alright excuse me as I get off my high horse...Ahhhh that's better. I'm just trying to say that your work is great, it could fit into a lot of different categories, people just got to see it in my opinion. So what's the hold up bub??
I love your set up shots, great things come out of that spot.
I love your paints in this post but your inks have the power, there's something really engaging about them when you see the two next together.
Keep them coming bro, you're a prolific mofo, Thanks for sharing!
