    Lots of sketches and paintings

Here are a lot of sketches and paintings done for myself in the past 6 months. Most of what I do for work I can't show, but I think I'm going to try and devote myself a little more to this sketchbook and conceptart.org in general. This site is so great, and I rarely post anything. From now on, that will change!

These are mostly just exercises, time to start actually designing.

    Wow. Really neat stuff. ^^b

I personally like your drawings picturing daily life like (in the cafe and the kitchen) and your sexy figure studies too! Your inking is also very dynamic and flowing. Keep it up!

    Welcome to CA!

Great stuff.... keep workin' with it... that life drawingin the coffee shop, very good... the depth to it looks awesome, and the outlines on the people add something neat... do you plan to do more with that piece or no?

Keep the posts coming! Good work.

    thanks IanE.
I've been here for awhile but never though of posting anything because I don't paint digitally all the time..i primarily just do pencils and inked stuff, with occasional paintings. But I have seen a lot of great traditional artists on here so I decided to start posting and getting feedback. I've primarily been working on getting a job in comics, a very uphill battle...but helps with the draftsmanship.

As far as finishing that coffeeshop sketch, I thought about doing a digital painting over it, but I've moved on. I just don't have to time to sketch for fun anymore because of school.

    THanks again!
    -Mike

Great stuff. The line is very loose and flowing beautifully. My favs would be the ones drawn with pencil and inked outlines. Absolutely five star material.

The tree and the creature design right before it look awesome... I have a feeling this will one day become a very excellent sketchbook. I'll be chekcing back more often for sure.

Awesome drawings going on in here man. On that last post, I would maybe position his feet a little different in the first and last pic, he has a little bit of a duck walk thing going on.

I'd love to see how you color these, it has a really cool watercolor feel to it, similar to Frezzato (Keepers of the Maser). Was this done in PS?

I'm also a big fan of the inkwork scattered about your book. Can't wait to see more stuff

Danomight: You are so right. I wish I could say I was going to fix it. Thanks for the compliments, I love Frezzetto's work, sooo good. It's colored in PS, just kind layered, like watercolor, and I used some PS texture brushes. I wish I was cool enough to make my own, but I'm not that savy with it yet.
Sith: THanks, yeah I love drawing from life. I try to do it everyday, or at least have my sketchbook with me at all times in case I get bored, which is always bound to happen.
Metroeast:Thanks! I wish I could do more CHOW submissions, after I graduate I think I'll have more time, but we'll see.
Acro:I think a lot of dark lines are from ink. If I'm mistaken then its probably just me messing with the brightness/contrast slider in photoshop.

20-30 minute Lifedrawing today. Black Prisma. Done at the end of a 3 HOUR workshop on FABRIC FOLDS!! Such a blast....actually, not really. But the guy who lectured and demonstrated for us was the insanely talented and knowledgable Glenn Vilppu. And that was great.

And this is just some comic book stuff. Stuff I've been doing for classes. There are some problems with anatomy due to the fact that its all from my head. And also, the tommy gun is waaaaaay too small. I wish I had the movie Last Man Standing for reference, just saw it last night and it would have been perfect!

    Watercolors

Sketched on location while I was in Rome a few months back. I just wanted to slap some color on it. Really just to mess around. Watercolor and gouache.

This is watercolor with a bit of gouache.

The lighting in the tree pic is just sublime.
I also like the Ghost Rider comic page.

You should try to combine the classic comic style with that neat watercolouring of yours (ionno if there'd be smearing :X) would be interesting to see...

    Cheers
