    I hate to say it, because I like the style and piece, but his left eye (our right) bothers me because it seems like it is out too far from the nose. I guess that doesn't affect process though.

    oh mate - thank you - thank you - thank you.
    That was some of the best 42 minutes I have spent in a long time. Being relatively new to digital colouring I just love your technique. Laying down all the tones, shades and highlights in greyscale first is a sensational idea.

    And the speed with which you do it all. Just the time it took you to do the nose job was amazing.

    And not one save for that whole time!!
    Great skills. And a really valuable resource. Thanks for putting that out there for us.

    Cheers.

    well....thank YOU.

    my speed is something achieved with time.

    doing an image in grayscale first, finding tones and light & shade is not something i could ever take credit for. i mean, most of the great artist here do that most of the time.

    and not saving is a BIG no-no. always, always save your artwork while producing it. i was just trying to create this tut in the shortest time possible.

    Man... I can't get this video to play on my computer. Quicktime player says it lacks the necessary software, but gives no clue what that software is. I really really wanted to see this, because your style is easily one of my favorites on this board, Chuck.

    Oh well, my loss. Keep up the good work, man.

    it`s an .AVI decoded by MPEG-4. it runs easily on the average Windows Media Player. or Divx player. or MV2.
    or the Cam player (of the camtasia software).
    QuickTime is probabley the only 1 that can`t run it, dude.

    Yeah, I had also tried to open it with Windows Media Player and it said the file type was invalid. I have no idea where the error is, so I'll just have to try again later on a different computer. Thanks, though.

    Hey plate,

    Try this player that negrotuerto recommended to me to view his AVI tuts:
    http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

    I'm on a mac and this was the best solution for me to see them instead of trying Quicktime. Chuck,mate's avi works perfect with this app. Oh yeah, it's free.

    Peace.

    Awesome. Thanks a bunch, red, I owe you one.

    And Chuck - excellent tutorial, man. I'm still pretty new to digital painting, and I think that just watching your technique has improved my understanding of it tremendously. Thanks for sharing, it's very much appreciated.

    HOLY FFFFFFFFFFFLUBAWABA!!!!!!

    this is incredibly insightful!!!! thank you so much, your use of layer effect and stuff is awesome!

    Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!!!!

    .....also wondering what that brush was you were using, it looks like a default one. Also, i noticed you had opacity and flow at 100% the whole time, you must have a really light hand or something.....

    Wafflehouseninja - the brush is a default brush (number 17 )
    and the settings are "pen preasure" on both "opacity" and "flow" jitters. simple as that.

    Kronos - see reply above.

    thanks dudes and dudets.
    a new tut is in the making.

    on your keyboard, left of the "Enter" key,
    you`ll see these 2:
    ]
    [

    ] = make brush bigger.
    [ = make brush smaller.
