welcome to the sketchbook section, hope you enjoy your stay here as much as i do.
now for c+c: there's a lot of stuff to be said, lots of tips and techniques to be learned for sure, but i ain't gonna write them all down here. instead i suggest you dig into some loomis or other sources for learning and understanding anatomy fundamentals. how about you take the human skull as a starting point. find some good reference and draw draw draw untill you know it from all possible angles, from memory.. that should boost your skills up a notch or two.

looking forward to seeing the progress! keep posting

The school is almost over... It smells like holiday... SO, I decided to go for some anatomy and draw some skulls from reference. I found some very good pictures here. I did some 5-10 min. speed sketches yesterday night at 1:00-1:30 am. So here they are...

    Need some crits

Some sketches during classes (i was too bored)
    A bull

    A concept of a dog-man mixture ...

And a female from Playboy pictures...(not made during clases )

Some crits welcomed especially on the dog-man's anatomy

Edit: PS About the Loomis books : I've read a little. They have a pretty good theory, but it seems TOTALLY absurd to me to draw from other's people's drawings. I agree, it gives you a good ideea of how you should see the world and how you can simplify it, but I just can't draw after someone's else drawings. I have to have the real person or photo in front of me to draw and observe...

nice work on the bull, and the skulls came out pretty swell too!
Next time you draw people, try and look at a muscle chart and draw the person as if they had no skin, so you only see the muscle. This is apretty good way to get some anatomy practise under your belt

    keep it up!!

nice work on the skulls - try to memorise their proportions and refer to them in your mind, as you draw human heads. (i see you're doing that already so good show)
be mindfull about the face area vs back of the head size relation.. some of your heads have a rather neandertahl vibe going on. try to put the eyes in the middle of the skull (heightwise) and work from there

    keep it up

Found some crap in one of my sketchbooks... I thought i should post it...

    ...a portrait - non referenced...

I wanted to draw a man stroke by a thunder, but I abandoned the idea - reference - a photo of me

    Some landscape concepts...

Some nudes (non ref'd) - just exercising with my ink pen

non ref'd - exercising my female anatomy skills - I kinda suck in anatomy

    hope u enjoy 'em...

Nice collection of studies. Good to see that you are motivated. There's been a lot of good advice so far. Keep practicing and draw from life as often as you can.

I'd like to see you really try to render an image to make it look 3-d. Maybe get a picture of someone's face and just keep working on it till it looks almost photorealistic.

That's what I'd like to see anyway.

still trying to improve my portraits...i thought that this one got out better, but it hasn't. The lower part is smaller than the higher one and i think it is because i draw on a flat desk (damn perspective). The port. is not finished yet, but i don't know how can i fix it. maybe i should make myself something like a wooden board so i can fix this "flat desk problem".

(edit: 23:48 - added 3rd pic - thin and thick black marker... still trying )

here is the portrait and the ref:
