i have to agree, the grandfather one looks like it is a lot more aesthetically pleasing than a photo of the same thing would be, which is really the goal when using a photoref. great job on it!

In my opinion that painting of your grandfather is the best one you've posted here. Really good use of colors. Nothing much to crit here. Btw. Piru means the devil in finnish. See you.

Hi all,

I updated my portfolio last week. Footage of the short I'm working on will be added when it's fully completed. Now there are two shorts I made last year online. One is stopmotion mixed with a great deal of after effects. This one I made with my partner in crime Stef Van Hyfte. The other one was featured in the future short film festival of Bologna in 2004, it's completely made in After Effects.

Long time no see, been buzzy with all kinds of stuff... anyway something I popped out just today, for an exhibition at Mekanik at Antwerp, one of the best specialised comic, graphic novel and other arty-thingies stores in Belgium. They organise this 'contest' (what's your excuse?) annualy especially for 'young talented people'.

The theme was "Home sweet home". I always found the term "Home" in the city something twofaced. People tend to care more about there birthground and always try to get into touch with it anyhow. Usually by those ugly sattelite dishes; therefor:

Well, I graduated in june as an animator, but since there is "no" work in this sector in Belgium, I have lots of spare time atm

And I'm trying to take this chance to boost my skills up tempo. During my studies I never had time to really get involved in the community at CA, always buzzy with my assignments etc, so now I'll try to catch up (a bit at least!)

Consequences are that you will all get to see this sketchbook more often at page 1 of the sketchbook subforum. The goal is to update my sketchbook at least 2 times a week, hopefully improving by frequent works and all CA's crits. And yes, I am a critmuncher, there's lots of things you can learn other visions of your work, other than your own narrow and objective one that is. Since CA's engine is one of giving and receiving I'll try to check as much SB's as I can too!

These pics where taken with a camera, because the SB is A3+ size and massively heavy (I think that it would break the window of my scanner if I would give it a try!

as a mather of facts, I'm trying to diverse my techniques as mutch as possible, combining traditional media and cg, I got stuck to the Pc lately

Teamed up with my old friend Uziel to "Antigon's Hand Sketchsquad" Antigon is part of on old legend about Antwerp, we might do some works on it later on.

Some sketches I did today, trying to get back into a good drawing flow.

Might be coloring the doc next!

hey! nice SB, fresh ideas, and i love your style, the last enviro with the play by play and the craig charles pieces are my favourite, id like to see more in a similar style to these and perhaps some anatomy work would benefit, great work, keep posting =]

thanks Lefran! I already forced myself to get back into anatomy, starting tomorow!
And about the last environment, I told you guys it was in a Young talent competition. Well, I got selected with it, among 15 others (of about 30-40 entries I think), to be in the exposition tour! This means my work will be shown at the "Belgisch Centrum voor het Beeldverhaal", a free translation means "The Belgian Center for Comics" or something like that. http://www.cbbd.be/ Quite happy about it because I'm looking for a job and this is a way to get noticed!

Next some conceptdesign and finished models I did for a little game. Not sure if it's going to be finished, hope it will ofcourse!
