    Wheezy- thanks
    FactorZero- thanks, glad you like

Been busy in college, making stuff like star shaped jewellary boxes, face casts popup books, loads of other stuff, but i have some stuff to update with

Started to repaint a previous sketch in my computing lesson, more fun than composing random pictures from google image search...

    C+C appreciated

I really like this piece - very airy and clean (though try to get rid of the bits where the paper warps if you can). Love the way her dress is painted.

Hahaha, is that Josh in the last one?? It has to be!

Hope things are going well in Foundation. I had a blast last year! Had a few hiccups but they were sorted out eventually. Is Brian still the life model there? I really do not envy you if he is, hahaha.

    Happy drawing ;P

    good watercolours.

this is just great, really beautiful drawing and ink (i don't see her pupils too big, but all depend on your intention and what you want to do)

    http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j211/lefran56/247.jpg

the doodle of yourself is very nice too, the only thing that i don't like too much is the ink acumulation in the arms.

the girl with the green dress is very nice.

keep it up and have fun

Quicksilver- Thanks naomi- yeah that paper buckles somewhat with water, they need to get some better stuff in college! Yup it is Josh!
Course is going good, some very very frustrating people who shall remain nameless lol and yes Brian is still there, i keep wanting to throw stuff at him hes that terrible lol, hope uni is going good!

    Dimagyan- Thanks for kind words

Oldnoobie: Thanks Lee, yeah's going good so far cheers

I dont have much to update with atm, as in college ive had a lot of research and preparatory stuff to be doing, also stuff like taking casts of my face, and making latex casts, a jug in ceramics and a hat in fashion, so ive not done as much drawing that i can post here yet, especially one thing that has taken me a little while that i can post at the end of the week , but ill take pics when other stuff is done
heres a quick self portrait- but i have hamster cheeks and weird eyes as ive forgotten to add the tearduct colour etc lol
i dont use colour much so it was fun to do anyway even if its not the best of drawings

    Hey fraaaaaan!

Love your style, it s developing nicely! Heheheh

As regards the skull. IMHO it doesnt read well, because you dont have clear light and shadow parts. I would tone down a bit the parts which were more in shadow. Otherwise, great line work. Hmm, that one horn in fron is a bit confusing perspective wise, hehe

    You re doing fantastic!

    cheers

fooxoo- thanks edite yeah i agre with you about the skull, there wasnt a direct light source, but multipe ones making it hard to pick out any shadow, like you suggestd earlier, ill go over to try and at least give the impression of a more direct light source with better shadows etc and yeah i think the horn is in the wrong place!

Ive finished something from my foundation course, its the fashion unit we had to make a hat- my tutor said i should make panels of fabric as its an awkward shape, so i did that, but the seams are a little raised as the fabric is a heavy wool type fabric. oh well!
Now just need to work backwards and do all the design work now

nice hat bet you enjoyed making it. Aren't you supposed to make the design stuff before actually making the hat?

Sketchling: Thanks Kim cool, yup shall bring my DS
FactorZero: yeah its really cool for costume design ideas
OldNoobie: thanks yeah you are supposed to do it that way round, but because we have so many units to complete, and only have one lesson a week for each, and 6 weeks in which to complete the whole thing, they dont mind us working backwards a bit so long as we get everything done

I dont have much to update with, just a few sketches and quick doodles from today.
Another skull- it was a small deer apparently, quick study
half of the skull is missing. Check out the 'What does everyone look like thread'

    Quick Dip pen sketch

I'm aware of the huge eyes small features thing going on, as i intended it to be that way

Not sure where this came from lol

Trendiest zombie I ever did see

The peacock piece is shaping up nicely, I like to see you really experiment with line weight and form. I also dig "Peppermint" you, partly because peppermint is the best flavor on the planet but also because of the graphic treatment to your hair in that one

your line work in this last one looks really good. try not to go too thick on those lines and try to vary your line weight within the same line.

    alesoun: thanks
Factor Zero- yeah thats something i need to do a little more- varying weight within a line i have a havit of a continual weight per line, and thanks
    Yosul Gongju- thanks

heres where i am so far
this is still smaller than the file im working on so a lot of the lines look a bit lumpy, but theyre not in the full size
also i could probably do with toning down the opacity of the coloured round feathers, its been suggested i thicken the lines around the girl so i'll try that out too
    any other suggestions?

    C+C welcomed

Here was my entry for the girl's thunderdome
My story was Alice in Wonderland
If you havent seen the other entries go to the finally finished section!
Theres loads of faults with this i know, the background looks quite vacant i think, her feet are a bit rubbish etc etc, but C+C is still welcomed for this, as hopefully its something i could correct in the future

I really like how that last one turned out. I remember seeing the sketch, you cleaned it up nicely. I think you should add some color to the trees leaves though.

Hey you got a great sketchbook going on in here. I like the style you are developing in the last pages, which is seen clearly on your TD piece.

With the girl piece on post #598, I think it will help some if the red colors of your bg are darker than the one of the girl's hair, so that way the figure stands out more. Also, by looking at the black and white version, the black contour lines look well which could be taken into the color piece.

I'll be sure to come back to see more, keep it up!
