I love those slightly bizarre portraits you have going on. - Regarding crit, I agree with Serpian, more anatomy and studies. :]

    Cheers!

nice start on a portrait i see what you mean about nto enough time to render... I like the eyes deformed a little though, not realistic but cute

i know you only just started to render but was the light just straight on? Usually forms are easier to read i find with a bit of side light to cast shadows along the neck line and such.

cool hair as well, maybe the ear is a little big? it kinda works with the big eyes atm though

try a 3/4 one next! the far eye will be a right pain in the turnip to do

I love that New York drawing Fran. The playful perspective is wonderful! I ought to stop by a bit more often.

Badger- Thanks B, and yes i do need to purchase a ruler i keep loosing them!
    Diphallia- Thanks for stopping by
    Serpian- Thanks
Fjooner- Yep i agree i need some more! Thanks for stopping by!
smartkyle yeah the lighting in college really sucks for anything like this in a way because its so blanket- theres strong overlighting, big huge windows, and light coming in from the corridor which has a glass ceiling- its worse in my base room as theres about 4 different light sources! 3/4 is my instinct pose i tend to draw from imagination! so how right itll be from life im not sure!
Poshspice- Glad you like it Aly, Thanks for stopping by
    Davi-
    Sketchling- hehe thanks Kim

Oooooook so i have not updated for nearly a month! i have been very lazy i must admit i have not been drawing as much as i should, its been nice having time off college, but ive been in work a lot over christmas and new year, so im even lazier than normal. I have a few bits and pieces mostly unfinished, but ive been working on my LMS entry which im pleased with so far, and im looking forward to posting that here, as i feel its one of my best pieces so far.
Anyway, enough babble, heres the random crap!

    1. This was an enviro i put together roughly and not too slowly for that same environment project just to pad the sketchbook out some more
    2. Thumbnail for the final piece for the same project for college
    3. Bad quality photo of the actual thing half way through- i finished it a while ago but forgot to take a pic as i rushed to finish it to hand it in on time!
4.I bought some Gouache, i havent painted in several years so thought id give it a go
5.6.7. Hospital lines, tried adding some colour traditionally, and started digitally
8.My Partner in crime. I never finished it though as you can see
    9.Quick doodle from earlier

I'll update with my LMS and progress for the image as soon as we're allowed

gah fran, each time i check out your sketchbook, i'll be honest with you, i get scared shitless. i think we're applying to the same uni, and my 'finished image' abilities are just a joke in comparison to your own.

ah its a joy and a bitter wake up call looking in here,

    well done.

Go team UK! The only other British person I think Ive seen on here so far infact, and I just noticed your birthday is the day before mine..

Awesome sketchbook, its great to see your still at it after so long, and the improvement is amazing.

I really like your stitched drawings, something Ive been wanting to try for a while now. Are you still on your foundation or are you at uni now? If so where did you end up going and is it any good?

    keep up the awesome work!

loving the more graphical route your taking here - your latest stuff in particular has got a really nice feel to them, clean and fresh. i like the art deco-esque feel to some of the lines and colour too - could be a direction you could push further if you wanted to?

love the cool interesting mark making youve got going on, you're creativity is an asset, make sure you dont lose it while persuing the more technical aspects of drawing like anatomy and perspective and shit (tho make sure you do persue them)

ill keep looking in - i need to do more creative stuff like you

Local meets eh? Forgive my ignorance but what would happen at a local meet? Is it just like a night out or is it some kind of convention type thing or..? Im at Bath doing Illustration (although its technically called graphic communication) So you'll only be about 10 minutes away on the trun, have you done all of the application business yet?

Nice updates by the way, little touches like the heart tattoo really make them
