Whoa you pay a lot of attention to lighting details!

One thing I might suggest is to perhaps use a little less shading than you are doing now. What I mean is that I often find the shading value you use for clothes, skin tone and hair are very similar, giving the impression that they're the same color. Maybe use a different pattern of hatching for different parts of the person? (Hair, shirt, skin)

Not that they don't look really good already, I just fancy that they'll look even cooler if you try that. Just my two cents.

I like both 216 and 217. 217 looks really professional.

Just one thing about 217, the perspective of his left arm does not seem to match the way he's holding his lantern.

Sweet, Hartigan is a badass. So is Green Lantern, but, ya know, Bruce Willis... Anyway, you've definatley got a knack for capturing likeness and your rendering abilities are awesome. I think Jeri had a point in that you don't need to run the gamut from black to white in every part of the picture, makes stuff look really shiny. Having the figures against somethin other than just a white bg helps. Great stuff tho, keep it up!

Nice stuff, it's cool to see how people improve as their sketchbook grows. The wolverines are great. The Captain Jack, and the Hugh Jackman have some seriously good resemblence. Hopefully my sketches improve this good

I like to do the pencil/smudging technique too, thats the best way I've been able to do shading. I've been focusing on ink lately, I'll have to do up some more pencils.

    Good stuff, keep postin'

    Eth

    love the girl on post

Do you use models for your art work? If so you have her in a great pose' and is she somebody we know?
I love the way she's shaded, you may have her slightly dark in the face but that can be fixed in PS.
    Good work!

I haven’t been able to put my finger on it, but I believe the term I’ve been searching for is cheesecake/ pinup. I think it’s the boots!

    Good work!
She is a model. Her husband sent me the photo and asked me to draw it.

    Thumbs up Hope

We can only hope they let you do more. She has a great smile and if your rendition of her is close you have yourself a good model. I would love to see the original photograph in order to compare. If you want to send it,
    [email protected].
Your work has gotten a lot better; I still think its kind of dark but that’s probably what you’re going for.
I’m also sorry to here about the loss of Jasmine Grey, what a tragedy where you close?

This is nice work but I agree that everyone looks too dark. You may also want to try drawing things other than people.

    Wink people

    Why?
Everyone draws Houses and Bridges and Trees! People are interesting. When we go to the mall do we rail watch or storefront watch? No we people watch! Even at a visual place like Disneyland we all end up people watching. Disney himself spent millions creating fake people.
Keep doing what you do best!

Please don’t misunderstand; I think your stuff is great! The darkness could just be your scanner or your style, what ever the case may be; please keep up the good work!

All this talk about shading and darkness. your last drawing is completely different from all the others. I’m new and never post but I read here a lot. Your last post is terrific! She is in my opinion you typical comic book girl next door, the girl waiting to be rescued by superman. You say her husband asked you to draw her? You’ve found a good subject for your work. Hopefully he will call you again! Is the agreement that you can use her drawings? If so and if she is willing try some damsel in distress stuff I think it could be really good.
