    i need some ideas.....

i love drawing (not to good at it but still) but i cant get in the mood to every time i sit down and think im gunna draw summin i get distracted. i mean i sit in an empty room and still find something else to do instead of drawing.

anyone got any ideas on how to keep my mind on the art and not on the dust floating by me ?.

why don't you draw a flamethrower of exponetially expanding energy?

the trick to drawing faces is to visualize a face and what it looks like when you are drawing it!

Draw eight hours a day. Don't care about the outcome, just draw. Draw everything you see around you, your hands, your legs, your face, your computer screen...Don't care about how bad it turns out at first. Repetition and patience is the key. Thats pretty much it...

    I think....

    OK I'll spit a little...
Everytime I "sit down to draw" I go through this "I don't feel like it" phase, which i've decided is just intimidation or fear or something like that. I'm pretty sure the feeling is something like "Oh, it just gonna suck anyway. Why bother?"
When I push through this mode, or feeling, I always come away with something that I'm happy to have done.
I've taken the unspoken advice of soooo many CA members and delved into the learning process (Construction, composition, perspective, Bridgeman, Loomis, gen anatomy, shading, the quick sketch, bla-bla, endlessness here...) And if I've got no current inspiration- or if I've got no time or motivation to sit and have a drawing session I just doodle a little. Something inadvertantly comes out. Never perfect, but always usable!
    That's how my avatar happened.

So, close your eyes. What do you see?
Ok then, OPEN your eyes. What do you see?
    No don't tell me!
    Show me.
Draw me a picture or something.

If you're no good at drawing but you'd like to learn but you don't know where to start... buy some cheap drawing book from your local book store. Don't spend any money on those really expensive ones at first. Just try and copy everything you find in the cheap one, even if it's only dino's or knights or spacemen.

You also might find some help on the Society of Figurative Arts forum (google is your friend).

    Here you go folks...
    The Reverse Lobster Sandwich.

Yup, you guessed it; a piece of bread between two layers of Lobster salad.
Cut me some slack tho- it started as an oreo cookie.

Go ahead ask me for a Bacon Foreslash.
