Oki, there's a trick that can help when you're working from refs. Draw the 'negative space'. That means instead of drawing an arm, draw the space around the arm. By shifting your attention to something that doesn't have the label "arm", you will see it more accurately. The mind wants to draw symbols of things, but artists need to be able to draw what's actually there. That's a way to fool the mental symbol-generator.

    Good stuff, tho, keep going!

Good start, at the moment your shading is a bit rough, you should vary it, darker/lighter, stronger/more flowing strokes. All in all looks real good, keep it up

Hi Oki. Concentrate on doing lots and lots more geometric shaps in perspective with good shading like you did on the 2nd to last pic here. They can get rather boring for some people but will improve your work immensly.

....i just had to post that icon because it cracks me up.

Try to push your values more, perhaps use a softer pencil. Aim for a full range from pure black to the lightest gray, using only one pencil (a B or anything "below) that)

    hey Oki

Great start. for ur age, ur lines are very good, and also ur shadings are good.i can tell by ur refrences works.

THose figues u did, not the ones with cloth and their suit , are really good. keep up with that.
DO more studies, look over great artists, their life drawings. their shadowing, or the way the out values on their lines. THe value on ur lines are prett much the same, and i think just a bit in rush ;D take ur time when u are drawing.

For ur age, i would say GREAT SKETCHBOOK.
KEEP IT UP. oh and also check this out ;D

Mine Ive done this too ;D

ANd also, dont USE photobucket, it limits ur sizes, and less space. check out http://imageshack.us/

    Heii,
THe one drawing u did http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...n/Skeshes2.jpg

-those small figures are looking nice. DO more of those small figures.
-Uve better change ur pencil to like HB or 2B.
-GEt some books, like Bridgman, Andrew Loomies, Hogarths. get some other life drawing books to see the simplifies forms of the human body.
-DO a warm up befire start drawing. Most of the artists do so when they want to start working.
-Take a piece of paper start drwaings lines, stirahgt, curved, dashed, circles, then try to go from dark to light, control ur values.
-Draw more of the geometrical shapes. apply them to a human body, ssee how a manequine is made, a simplifiles form of human body, use it.
-Ive seen uve done acouple prespective studies, do more of that.

FOr now concentrate more on ur lines. When u get that right, then u can easily learn other stuff faster and it will be more fun for ya.

Ur on the right track KEEP IT UP

    Ey babe.
You're designs are pretty interesting. Do more anatomy and studies and they will be great

If your drawings have darker values "irl", try playing around with them in some program (ps, acdsee etc) and push up the values. These all look like you've drawn with hard pencils.

Now, go draw and stop ircing!

    .hugs

    The Resignation
Their only goal is comedic excursions,
    The exploitation of my abilities,
    The ridicule of my ailments,
They leave me with nothing but frustration and indignation so this right here is my resignation.

Whoever said One is the loneliest number has never met me,
Because the more i surround myself with the more alone i feel,
Maybe its my fault for going along with it,
Why did I have to be born so submissive,
But it doesn't matter to me anymore its all in the past,
Because I hereby resign from this defunct union.
