    bread and games 2

    Hy artists,

I finally made it to open a new thread (it took me very long) to show interested people my latest works. When I was looking for the first time in this forum I never thought that I would see my own pictures posted here.
But your forum is great and I spend a lot of time to check the sketches and paintings in front of my PC.
I´ve concerned myself with art since I was a kid and I had the idea to be one of the great artists of this cetury. But I´m a lazy dog and I´m not sure if I still have the motivation to become an real great artist. But luckily I´m only 24 and I hope there is still enough time for me.
So you inspired me to post some sketches of my own to get a bit more motivation for myself and sure, to give something back.

I hope the people who see my pictures also have so much fun like I had with theirs.

First I want to show some standarts
I´ll beginn with some anatomy sketches:

my left hand with white chalk on black box

    my feet and hands

    a skull

    my hand

    my hand

    ones more, my hand

    head of a statue

Here are some live fast people studys, to learn more about individual charakters of human beings:

    master of construction

    people in wiesbaden city

    some others

    a frind of mine

Now I wanna to show some architecturesketches

a live architektur study of wiesbaden city on ingre-paper

    schiersteinerbrücke (wiesbaden/mainz)

    Wellritzstraße (wiesbaden)

one of my first oil paintings (there are only few)

And at least an old school style dragon samurai sketch

I think that is enough for the first post ever
Hope you enjoyed and if you want to, I`m really looking forward to see some critic below here.

    Thanks for the audience JvY

Wow, great stuff! The only thing I noticed is that the samurai's pose is a little boring and motionless. Everything else rocks, especially that bridge. I'll be looking forward to more!

thanks man!! you are my first reply and I agree with you about the samurai.
I wanted it to look like these religious pictures from the "Gotik", ....... but your right.

Thanks for your message and I hadn`t enough time to post all the pictures I wanted, so you`ll see some more of this and other stuff.

    Thanks for your positive reply!

    Hy tfk,

Thanks for your intrest and I`m very happy about yor reply.
I`m very satisfied that you like the enviroments, at the moment they are also one of my favorites cause of their lighteffect (question: Is rendering the same like modulate with light and shadow?). You will see some more of these sketches in the next time.
I think your`re right with the people. They realy look a bit stiff although they skribbled from real life. At the moment people and anatomie are my priority but I have still much to learn especially about the perspective of bodys and the anatomie of seperate bodyparts. I think the reason for the stiffness and the lost of the individuality is that I became adicted to draw from brain and that I abstract things too much. but your right, I`ll do something against these stiffness and the uncorrectness of the proportions of bodyparts.

Thanks for the detailed critic and I think you helped me to go in the right direction with my charakters (I`ll show some better charakters)

I`ll also look for new post in your thread
    See ya

hi roommate, nice to see you finally decided to post some stuff of yours.
well, i totally agree with the fat kid, your poses look too stiff, try to work on that bro. Other than that yu know i really like your stuff, your envirodrawing is pretty good, though you could spend some more time on sketching, i´ve seen you´v been a lazy fuck over the last few months. I hope this SB motivates you, u gotta post something, right?

    Goude Kicek,

Thanks for your reply, you are a real honest criticer, I like that.
To da stiffness, ...., yeah I hate it too, but I think if I had a photo or a sitting model and the motivation, I would do it better. I hope I`ll prove that in the next posts.
Now, to the compliment for my enviroments; ....Yeah, we were chilled and kissed by the muse, right?
Your damn right with the fact that I´m a lazy jerk, but I try to change myself for the art.
    keep on styling, kollegga!

    Thumbs up

Um... your environments are awesome. Dang My favorite is the storefront.

I agree with everyone about your figures, the rendering is nice and you have confident lines, but some of the figures (including the samurai) are stiff. The samurai wouldn't look as stiff if he were grounded, but in the air it does look odd.

Looking forward to see more of your work.

    Hy revender,

Thanks for the warm words about my enviroments.
It makes me very satisfied to hear that these sketches flashing you.
Your praise motivates me to do more in this direction, so you`ll see some more of these in the next posts.
About the stiffness of my posted charakters, ...., I`ll spend more work on dynamic poses of creatures. But I think to reach this goal I first have to work on the real anatomie especially on the perspective of creatures.
Thanks for the compliment of my stroke, I`ve been drawing for such a long time now. But you never stop learning.

Hope you visit my thread again to see more of these enviroments.
    Good day
    See ya

    Goude anymale,

Schön das dir mein Ausblick gefallen hat, dann hat sich die Arbeit ja wirklich gelohnt.
Wiesbaden ist halt auch einfach eine schöne Stadt.
    Wo kommst du her?
Hast du auch vor ein paar Arbeiten von dir zu zeigen, oder möchtest du einfach nur deinen Augen etwas gutes Tun?

    Danke für dein Interesse,
    JvY

    new shit

    Good evening frinds of art,

It`s eleven o`clock after work and now I find some time to show you more of my collected works from the last year.

    Hope you enjoy:

First I`ll make the Samuraiseries complete although you maybe say again that the character is a bit stiff. I like them.

    And now some more Headstudies
The first is from the series of these at the top of this side and it`s a bit older than the following.
I hope the second sketches seems a bit more lively, they are drawn from a photo: it`s my father, brother, stepbrother, brother and myself (from left to right):

Here comes a fast zombie attack skribble (the perspective of the room and the characters isn`t nice but I like the light of the gun on the objects and the fast stroke.

I live in Wiesbaden and the following pictures are viewings of the living room of a small and cosy flat where I lived once. Chiefly I wanted to show the light which was very impressive because of the yellow curtain at day and the lavalampe at night. room Sweet room. I also wanted to try different technics.

Here are some more architectur stuff:
A fast view out of the nice living room from above

a housefront of a livinghouse in wiesbaden city

Yeah, I was on MALLE last year and we lived in this castle for one week, it was a great time.

I like the appearance of fast skribbles and here is a little selection

Ok here are some more little oil paintings. I`ve also made some bigger canvas, I`ll photograph them in the next weeks (I haven`t them at home).

At least some forest sketches which I`ll work out like the architecture in the next time.

That was a insight of some old stuff
From now on I`ll try to produce better new shit with better ideas and much more color and atmosphere.
I hope I`ll find some time

    see ya

    hi janvanyorck:

overall the illustration type style you have going is very impressive. i like that you are very comfortable with several different media. and i know that these tonal studies on brown paper are not an easy thing to master. this study in particular is very nice: http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...anyorck/a2.jpg, though i feel that it might be stronger if the ground level weren't that muddy grey. would love to see some more of these... very gorgeous work.

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...anyorck/a6.jpg i like these a great deal... it's cool how you are observing and processing the different kinds of light. looks like a very cozy, productive kind of space too.

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...vanyorck/1.jpg this one seems to get a little unrealistically dark at the right hand side of the composition(-->)... kind of makes it seems like it's painted from a snapshot
hope to see more work soon!

Another great update janvanyorck! I'm loving the quick skribbles you posted, especially these ones. http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...k/skribs_1.jpg
What did you use to color them? I'm going to guess marker, but I'm really bad at guessing that kind of stuff, so tell me if I'm wrong. And as far as crits go, guggenmaneuver already said everything I can see. Looking forward to the next update!

    Hy guys,

I thank you for your critics and praises.
Sorry that it took me so long to write you back but my internet was cut off.
I read your comments and I`ve to agree with you guys. In next posts I`ll try to show some overworked versions.
Nice to hear that you like the lightrooms and the skribbles, made with copic-marker. It`s much fun to do this fast skribbles.

I`ll check your new stuff in the next time, thanks for your detailed replys.
