Well, you didn't miss much. Fixed the entry sketch,



not much el WOAH! LIFE DRAWING! What? Whered that come from! That's right, life. As crappy as they are, that's otta make up forr my abcense slightly. (keep in mind these were done very early in the morning, and drawing through one bloodshot eye is hard.) They suck, but they definately gave me a very clear view of my weak points. Expect anatomy tomorrow.

I'm sorry to say it isn't very much I can crit on here, just encourage you to keep practicing. Your lines are very clean, which is a good thing.

Interesting You should mention that Idiot Apathy! Today was a big brush/color experiment. I did this at a small size (100% at 300x300) so I wouldn't focus on details. Done with ref.

I was going to suggest a colour change for skeleton guy, but you already covered it, kudos.

Hands looking good; those books are really worth their salt, it seems.

Cloth study still looks a little hasty, but you're getting way better at slowing it down, it seems. I still think it's one of your bigger weaknesses, though.

Can't see much else to crit at the time being. Just keep posting. And sorry I haven't stopped by for so long. :>

I assume those cylindrical ones are lighting experiments? The top one is flattened due to your stroke direction. The last one is too scribbly - use bigger brushes! *bonk*

Hand looks good. Toaster made me laugh. You have a quirky sense of humour, I like it.

Also, you updated almost the same time I did, again. Getting weird, hehe.

Opps! Missed a day. I forget what was today or yesterday, so here's everything.

Oh boy, I've found a common error. 'Bout time.

You're drawing your legs way too short. I assume you're drawing from the head down (most people do). Quick way to establish correct proportions - use your fingers to gauge the distance from the top of the head to the crotch (I use my thumb and point finger, then space them accordingly). Once you get that measurement, move it to the lower half, making a little line at the bottom of the lower half. That'll be how far down the legs should go.

In case that made no sense, remember that the crotch will, more or less, mark the middle of the body, height-wise. As is, your legs are roughly a head too short.

"Line petting! No! Stop!" Made me chuckle. Hard habit to get out of.

And I am seriously considering buying those books you got. They look neat-o.

Another random note, wee. I had a secret goal to out-page your sketchbook, but you're updating daily as well. Damn your commitment!

sorry all caps lock... keeps things INTERESTING, no?
thanks for dropping by my book friend...i really appreciate it! anyways, I thought of a crit... You're doing a good job with your push to get things right, studying anatomy (i'm on a bridgman quest myself right now), etc... in your more finished digi paints, i'm a firm believer in developing your image with regards to say 4-8 thumbnails (tiny, like maybe 1-2 inches tall on paper, in your sketchbook...these should be in proportion to your final piece be it a horizontal vertical, or even a damned dodecahedron for that matter...) and then working up your ideas from there into a MORE finished final sketch.... sure, it doesn't have to be perfectly rendered, but it presents your problems to you before you get to the stage of perspective errors and problematic areas in the final composition that aren't thought out so well.

i hope this helps you; you've certainly helped me a great deal with the encouragement!

I know how bad days feel. Just keep drawing, sort of get it out of the system you know? For me the bad periods can last several days, but I try to just keep on doing it until suddenly one day - I like myself again!
