Still the stars are playing ping pong , back to reality i guess, FOR NOW !!
I was asked to do some design for work, so its gonna be tons of hours more each day to draw and improve. Focusign a lot on improving my lines lately , more than rendering stuff tightly, even if its something i should practice.. All the stuff written in the sb pages are just personal observation where i try to nail a process that works for me...

Wasker: Hello, yep thios book is amazing, i like the way how its divided and the author talks about paint with so much respect, i like the way he use palet knife in his paintings, he master edges so well, hes really a master. You are right about the water, i guess i didnt take time to fade the water to the horizon properly, maybe i do these studies a bit too fast ;O

Wookiebado: Thanks ! Its actually a really simple brush, based on a tip shape that comes with photoshop, i just setted the angle to the pen tilt, after that its all in the way you move your wrist to get the angle you want. I use the same brush to smudge a lot.. Smudging owns hegege

Some recent stuff.
A quick black and white sci fi thing, trying to do something interesting in perspective with depth. Ended up beign a bit cheesy and undetailled.

And the second is a brush test with low contrast values colors..

And the usual crappy traditional stuff. Hope you guys enjoy em a bit =/

Amazing sketchbook pages, really love your pencil rendering.

One crit tho, is there isn't a lot of contrast in your evos. So I think pushing some of those darks would really help.

I really like your new fully packed sketchbookpages. cool ideas and you analog drawing seems to be improving a lot!
and the low contrast brushtest is very nice.
If you made the contrast in the foreground a little stronger I think it might help the image to a very foggy feeling. other than that I think the colors are pretty moody and nice already. great work anyway.
I thought I gave you 5* before but no... there you have 'em now

ok so today i did a few Ps sketches, after lunch.. trying new brushes and kind of radiosity on the colors, im also strating to get addicted to Sharpen, dont know if its a good thing do.
Like you said Paddyi need to stop drawing the same thing over and over.On my sketchbook im trying to focus on the body and anatomy, and putting them in solid perspective, and that with not too much messy lines on my sketches. I also noticed that i have a big problem with focusing... am I the only one ? Maybe its because i got the flu right now but when i start drawing on a blank sheet i just mess up everything if i dont spend some time figuring what i want to draw and visualizing each line i want to put down... So, i hope ill be able to show some traditional stuff soon -_-

i have a huge problem with focus myself right now. im lucky if i can sit focused on a piece for more than an hour. its getting better though.i dont have have any advice.sorry. just that your not alone!

hahaha man defcon79, those were posted like 3 years ago Still have trouble focusing on something tho, having only 1 hour per lunch to do something is not helping polishing stuff, but its helping doing things faster, i think patience vs quality is one of the hardest aspect of polishing stuff..

Jailouse, Monotony: You guys are right about the contrast, only silhouettes of values that receed in atmosphere doesnt create contrast but only fog. Should have put a lightsource in those 2. Thanks for the support

Hey. Great drawings and paintings. The last character looks interesting.

I think you're at this stage where you could focus on ideas more and do a bit of finished art. For example you try in your sketchbook some faces and poses. Some are pretty good so it's just matter of choosing the best stuff and putting it together. Same goes for environments. Maybe create some world based on single piece and do some concepts for it.

well , one tip on your pencil might pe , to use less lines , don't rush , take your time with the rendering " you can be a good painter or a good engraver but a good artist is shown in his drawing" , drawing never lies , take care , hope this helps ^^

P.S. I could use some tips myself on digital painting , i see you are pretty good at it .

Been a while again, THANKS everyone for the replies. im trying to rush less and worry less and everything.. and especially finishing stuff. Im really lucky these days , i got the opportunity to do some concept for the game im working on as a level artist, thanks to my boss who believe i can do the job, unfortunately i cant show anything, thats too bad cauz i could really use some feedback..
I sketched this thing during lunch today to try new stuff, all done with the same flat brush.

hey man, look like you needed some crits so ill drop some if you dont mind hmm in your last digis, you seem to use white to paint highlights , you should study color theory a bit to help you pick the right color for your hioghlights and shadow, the problem with white is that it desaturate the color under it at the same time it brightens it, the thing is that usually in real life, the light source is eaither warm or cold, the sun would not desaturate the highlight but rather add a bit of warm color into it... hope you found what to do after highschool , as long as you keep doing stuff you will improve.
