Hello !
Lets start this new year with some quickies hehe
I think i finnaly understand how to create a proper color harmony.. i was always concerned by the balance between warm and cool of 2 light sources..but neglected the fact that some color needs to be eliminated, and that in a lot of case, a nice harmony can be created with only 1 lightsource.
Happy new year everyone, and thanks a lot for looking and commenting.
so heres 2 rough things i did today, after realising some stuff and asking myself a lot of questions about how i was applying color.

nice studies mate! hope youll update more often this year =) please?
My god your work is breathtaking!!![]()
so good.
Awesome work!
I have no words, nothing to crit,
your skill level and paintings are much beyond my knowledge and understanding level.
Enjoyed viewing this all through, and the best thing will be if
I will keep coming back here from time to time for some inspiration.
Thank you for sharing all this with us.
ace work!

Intresting work. Mind you im not sensing you are pushing the artistic creative boundaries enough and alot of your scenery seems too generic. Its one thing to take a picture of a mountain cliff side and carve it out and put some color overlay into it, but I dont think you do it well enough to hide more of it rather than leaving it visible seems off. But, your city stuff its really good, but not a whole lot of movement like vehicles and people or ships. I hope I was able to help- Regards
and honestly i dont really appreciate the comment you left on my page. Id never concider myself being a pussy and just sit there and do still lifes, perhaps if I was on a still-lifes website I would. Telling me my colour temperture is bad. No, my colours are alright thank you very much.

Those recent color studies are nice man! They remind me a bit of the work here: http://nathanfowkes-sketch.blogspot.com/
which if you haven't seen that blog yet, you might find pretty interesting. Anyway great work you've put up lately, it's awesome to see you're still learning and improving.
For real bro. Don't wanna start an argument, but critique and advice is what this website is about. I think Virg's comment on your page was quite relevant to what you should be doing to improve.
Nice environments!
Your environments are awesome, but you know that already. I like your brushwork a lot, everything looks like you applied just as many strokes as necessary. I´m gonna work hard to be at your level one day.

no way that i'm going to leave my seat! i'll wait in here till you'll present me an update. hihihi
hehe allright ...havent got a lot to show.. i dont do a lot of digital stuff at home. Got a shitload of stuff done at work that I cant show yet.
Just started playing with aquarelle, not easy but a lot of happy accident happens, it has somehow the rough feel of quick speed paints that I like.
The stuff I do in my moleskine is total nonsense, mostly experiments and no lifedrawings at all, a lot of it is done with my buddies on sundays with a mix of coffee, music and alcool.
Sorry for the lack of updates, more to come !

Hey dude
Ummm... Ok, this is weird and embarrassing but I seem to have clean forgot who you are, did you change your username?
I stumbled upon your SB and thought this was one that I had never seen before and was about to make a comment but then I flipped through and realized I've seen it before and then I saw my own comments that I don't even recall making... now I feel like there's a gaping hole in my memory. You even said we talked before??? What the hell is going on.
That aside, sick improvements. Environments keep gettin' better!
Oh, and you asked me about eye strain before and I didn't even reply.
Well, how I dealt with it to remember to blink, lol. That, and drinking plenty of water. Make sure your monitor isn't too bright, make sure there's no bright light behind your monitor, i.e. window.
Just one word. AWESOMEness.
Hunterkiller: Hahahaha... yeah old username was WhiteC , you can still read it under my new oneI think we tried to do Open canvas a couple of years ago, or we talked on the old C.A paintchat ?? Not sure.. i suck at keeping track of everyone on this site ! But i remember checking your SB often in the past. I dont really post anymore so i dont check others sb that often. Yeah eyes strain.. it happens to me when i draw from life, i think my eyes have a hard time switching between focusing on the paper then on the subect, paper, subject etc.. it seems my eyes will pop out each time i swap between the 2.. i think putting my paper further from my eyes helps a bit.
Erik: Thanks !
SORRY NO ART, next time ;P
back to work.
Hello
Here is something I did for an Halloween flyer,
And some really quick sketches, trying new brushes and using as few brushstrokes as I can to describe something.
![]()
Nice Halloween flyer.
Thanks for clearing that up, haha. Man, I was so confused. Kind of wish that CA wouldn't allow username changes.
I think you've achieved what you wanted with the flying serpent picture, but the knight helm looks a bit scribbley.
Speaking from personal experience, I find that trying to be 'quick' and 'efficient' is a very tough combination in drawing, however logical it may seem.
To be efficient/economical with strokes requires much thought and visualisation, constructing the image in your mind rather than on the paper, to achieve that effect of spontaneity.
That's just my 2cents!
sup,
Hunterkiller: Hey thanks, no worries , im not really active on the forum and changing username is not helping people keeping in touch haha...
I need to slow down a bit when I paint.. I remember hearing craig mullin saying in a video how much slower he painted nowadays compared to his debut, I guess theres no need to run if you dont know where your heading... totally makes sense.
Well ..heres something i did during some spare time at work, totally went wild with no idea of where this was heading, like most of the stuff in this sb.
experimenting again.. with low opacity glazing to add more life to the colors, kinda like the reds, but I should be doing studies instead, oh well...
