    new stuff

Thanks for the encouragement Daz !

heres some stuff im working on at the moment
Im trying to work more with photos to try to get a more realistic and textured look.. not as easy as i thought, blending photos and brushstrokes without making it look awfully overworked is not easy. Any crits is highly welcomed, im at a crucial moment where i need my stuff to get as good as i can.

These last two environments are REALLY good. A massive step up from your previous work.
I think with regards to photos and brushes it looks like you need to use more suitable brushes and more complicated/detailed brushes. Photos and textures are normally very very detailed, theres tonnes of variation in colour and tone like single pixel. So if your using very plain brushes they tend to stand out. Like those are the spots that stand out for me in these, like the big blobs on the tower in the first picture.

On the other hand, youve done a really fucking good job. Absolutely love them.
Keep up the posting, looking forward to seeing some more work like this

The details are nicely executed, you definitely got what you wanted from your references! One thing I wonder about is you planning of the composition of the work. When you are doing a layout of the elements on the page you have to consider the viewers eye. There are different things going on with your detail studies but it seems too influenced by geometry or computer games.

    thanks guys !!!

Andy: Thanks for the crit man, ill be careful to use more grainy brushes, tried it out on those new enviro.

Mecha: Yo ! thanks for still watching my sb, its in fact heavily influenced by videogames.. ;( im doing stuff a bit generic for my portefolio to look versatile, i need to do more studies once i got time !! i dont particully enjoy using photos but thats what my employer is looking for.

Snobby: hehe thanks !! still not as strong as Jean Claude Vanm Damm tho..

ok so i reworked a bit this one

The Jaime Jones brush piece is really cool. That bright contrast makes it look great.

brahimpag: Thank you ! yes this sketchbook is really old, and not that much stuff in it lol And i really dont think im a big artist, maybe when ill nail a job doing i would be closer to a great artist, but thanks !

    biglu: Thanks !

PhatAndy: I wasnt sutre if the dark values would be notcieable, because on my computer at work it looked fine but at home i just see a dark mass because contrast tend to differ a lot.. i also started that painting on my laptop, which has a crazy amount of reflection on the screen all the time, laptop sucks for that.

    zero: thanks mate

Again, a rock Study from a pic from the web... been a while since ive done a study, was a good occasion to try brushes and apply some new conception of colors, slight hue shift in light and shadow zones.
So just that for today, more to come !!!

A couple of quickies, exploring simplicity, and using 2 tones to suggest form with simple shapes, kinda like the mood of these !!
