    Finishing these could be a priority, and of course the cross hatching here is a bit randomised. Anatomy could be worthwhile working on as well. Keep your chin up though comrade, cos after all you're a member of the undisputed 8

    I'll start looking into anatomy...
    I'm just trying to get this particular book full at the request of my art teacher.

    These are mostly just for fun anyway. I'll try to get some real pages up, soon...er...ish

    styalistic. i can imagine that ink inof various dark colors would go quite well with this. try experimenting with bloting and washing for backgrounds, while giving us a solid, yet wholly odd set of values for your figures, to generate the mood of messy, dark and carnal that your style could go well with.

    Hey man! Nice to see ya! This sketch group thing seems like a good idea! I´m glad you´re in mine!

    Really cool sketches! You have good understanding of light and value, but you could practise at the technical part of the rendering some.

    Nice stuff so far! I would have to agree that anatomy is probably your best path to improvement right now, but I dig the style on these! Nice rendering on the last one's head, as well.

    nice rendering! glad to be in 8 with you. One suggestion i have would be to forego the crosshatching while doing your life drawings. For instance shading with the side of your pencil for a subtitute. So you could finisih it faster and soak up more information about the form in a shorter time. keep up the good work.

    Gah.... Just to keep up with drawing-per day thing.

    And I'm working on that whole using the side of my pencil thing.
    I'll try to get some full figures done eventually.

    i can tell that u think allready about how u use ur line in shadin, wich is nice.
    One thing that popped into my mind is that u tend to do heavy outlines wich is cool aswell. If u do em however try to vary the thiknes or use the outline at certain spots. By doin this u can either set a focus on intersting parts of the drawin ( like hip or whatever u like about this drawin). Or u use it to create depth, so use heavy/thik lines at front lighter or none at things in the back.

    Hope this makes sence to u and can help ya.

    The skulls looking good are you sure about those teeth though? they just don't sit right with me. Otherwise looking sweet!

    I like the skull. The eye socket might be a tad small, but I don't have the best eye for that sort of thing (still studying facial structure myself, hehe). Also, in your crosshatching, try making your lines follow the form more instead of a bunch of parallel lines, it looks "neater". Keep up the good work though man, more anatomy studies! hehe.

    Finals are kind of taking their toll, so don't expect many updates this week.
    At least my art teacher lent me out another sketchbook...
    The reason the skull looks like it does [sloppy and out of proportion] is mostly because it's reference was a random low res jpg I found floating around the forums. It's really hard to get any sort of form outside of the basic masses from a piece like that. The really dark lines were me playing with a sharpie, I'll try to incorporate their thickness in defining depth in later sketches.

    I like where your headed. The cross hatching seems entirely unnesassary at parts and I want to say I love it, or I will when it's at a point that it really contributes as much as it can. I'm just thinking how every line needs to have a point and a lot of those just seem like throw aways...but they don't have to be, and you know that. I dig that second image the most-the third image arms really bother me. There's no muscles in them. Even if you don't know the anatomy, grab a reference that you can just copy the anatomy off of. It would really punch it up, and the extra work is more then worth it.

    I know, the shoe was rushed. I procrastinated until the night before it was due.

    This is so old I forgot how long it took me. Not very, judging by how sloppy it is.

    I did this in ~45 minutes over my Christmas vacation. I was switching channels between Animal Planet and the History Channel, so I came up with the elderly walrus man.

    This was on the train ride back down from my vacation. It's a model from HalfLife 2 / star of the single best series of machinima I've ever seen. The Adventures of Garry.

    hoi, looking good so far, think about the light and the form and shape your stuff with value, a good way to learn form is lifedrawing, it pretty much beats everything and if you have a model its super duper =)

    I'm going to try something new.
    The following pages are in chronological order over the course of 2 hours.
    Half-assed scribbles, killing my moral...

    I figure I should try and slow down, so I do this from photo reference. I ruin what little success it has with a white charcoal pencil.

    So, three failed portraits. I keep pushing forward and do a drawing based off of a Da Vinci sketch... [I don't think the image is going to load]

    Then I do another drawing of it, which turns out relatively successful.

    Well, both imageshack and photobucket have decided they hate me.
    I have a painfully sloppy doodle, the only drawing I could get myself to sit down and do today...
    It's of this wierd porcelain chicken we have in out kitchen...
