a canyonmaker is simply a creature (as we see, a creature of cow is mostly some kind of animal) that makes canyons.
I don't want you to tell my idea, but imagine a canyon and than a creature (instead of a natural power like tectonic) which could have caused it

Haldor, size doesnt matter....well sometimes it does, but not in this case

JakkaS made a very tiny creature for Swamp Beast and won, though everyone else was thinking of a beast being big....so do a concept where a creature makes canyons, whether the canyons are big or small, it's up to you to set a nice and creative concept around this...

I figured "canyonmaker" is something tribals would make up, you know, with their wild and imagination they like to exxagerate things.
This is a 20 meters tall Kangrostrich. They jump around like frogs and if not canyons they make big foot-prints and cause all sorts of trouble. Earthquakes, volcano-erruptions and land-slides. Those silly creatures.

I'd like to add more details but my lack of skills kept me from doing it. I'll do that with another creature.

The Moggis Rotundis - or Canyonmaker - is a relative of the wildcat, but strangely imbued with the ability to find the natural resonant frequency of most solid objects. This odd power gives the Moggis the power to render gravity's effect on solids null and to tear things apart at will. In a bizzare show of strength, the Moggis will often refuse to walk around natural obstacles that lie in their way and so they can frequently be observed making huge splits right through land masses, hence their colloqiual name, the Canyonmaker.

Gents - this is my second attempt at a COW - hopefully I've not made a bollocks at the criteria again. It's a thoroughly stupid idea and not very well executed (I used two filters - oh dear) but I have run out of time. I hope that I'm not bringing down the (usually excellent) quality of COW with this entry.

lol not at all, I like the effects, though more emphasis could be put on making a stronger character.

I really like your idea though, that it blasts through matter by sending out sound waves, since that is really what this world is, vibrating energy.

CabezaDura- This creature is in extinction process because of its prominent and deformed reproductive apparatus. His heavy penis has sharpened ends like nails, and this particulary characteristic plus its interior of ardent rock does of the CabezaDuras one of the main Canyonmaker creatures of the planet.

The CabezaDura male has killed all the females of his species and he can't reproduce anymore.
In the evolution of his specie the CabezaDura's penis start to increment his size and weight. In the beginnings, the CabezaDuras more evolved had a great acceptance between the females, because they had an enormous penis with new textures ( like a cereal bar ), but with the years these textures sharpened becoming into a mortal trap for the females.

Now the Cabezadura vague by his planet looking for some female, and due to its small hands and their heavy penis, the Cabezadura cannot escape of its destiny... The extintion.
