This was fun and want to thank each and every one
of you that pushed, prodded, cajoled and tantalized me to

Consider my bum warm and toasty from the patting
Thanks big D!
I will get a wip of marge up by tonight.
Cheers!
Well, get ready for another patting
Lovely stuff. Especially the pencil ones. Very meticulous and clean. I can't help thinking that your most lines lose something when you colour them though.....although the last one is very nicely done.
Just for variation, I'd like to see you loosen up a little and paint using bigger brushes and strokes.
oh, and pat, pat, pat![]()
There's some wild stuff going on in here, very, very imaginative. I like your pencil work the best, I think. Nice and clean and tight. That last color piece is very good, I have the feeling of a large space receding back and can really sense the space up to the ceiling. You did all that very well. Overall it has a good feel to it.
mull77: thank you...it's always been a dirty habit of mine to try and keep everything supertight...goes back to trying to break into comics. I agree with you...my pencils suffer due to just poor judgement while in PS or Painter.
Yeah...I would like to play with broad sparthy like brushes...will give it a go..and post the results...thanks for the suggestion and them pats...
Madplanet: Much appreciated! Yeah that last piece was a fun little 2 point perspective shot....I think my t-squares and the cogs and flywheels in my brain are still smokin over it....LOL...
Here's a wip for the latest ChOW..Marge the Gigamart Wearhouse Worker just after Black Friday...

Like I said over in the actual ChOW 6 thread - I really dig this! Serious crack up. As far as I can tell, your piece and Posh's are my favorites, but must admit that yours is ahead by an elf.
Cheers!

I haven't read the chow description, but that elf is a great little added touch with him hanging and his one boot curled up. Marge looks great, too. I like her feet (no foot fetish here!).
these creatures are really cool, dude. try to work more on your digital skills. You seem to use really many soft edged brushes, try to use more hard edged brushes to give your painting som more additional structure.

Dave: Thanks for the kind words...but yeah bro...Posh's is always top notch and kick ass....he's a goddamned force of nature....
Gloominati: I see your point....And cannot agree more that my wobbly digi skills need some serious kick in the drawers. I appreciate you swingin by and scoping the work.
Madplanet: This was a blast to draw....just let the madness creep up and take me away...bwaahahahahaha....(btw...I like her feet too...) j/k...lol

Nice work mate! Love how the chow entry is comming out so far! Side not! Might want to add some more pinks and reds in that little guys face and skin! But it is a wip, soo ill wait and see what happends!
Eyal: I will try and post as often as I can...I know the credo is "Sketch all day every day." but...alas the holidays and life...do tend to wiggle in the way...However, I will get some fresh sketches up real soon...Cheers!
seth: Thanks for the trick and I did indeed add the red to his cheeks and skin...world of difference. Again many thanks!

Awesome stuff! Personally I like your linework better than your colored stuff.. Might be the monitor I'm on right now, but it comes across as kinda dark and flat.. if you vary the values a bit more? But then, as I said.. I'm not on my own monitor right now..hehe..
The CHOW-linwork is hella cool!
Keep fighting!

Sorry for the long wait on the reply Dcept....was sketching while i could...
Yeah, the color aspect of my work is in a word...SHIT!
But I'm working on it
I thank you for the kind words about the chow entry...I appreciate that..and you coming by and scoping the goods. Cheers!

Your creatures look amazing, love the lines and rendering. Can't wait to see more. Your last pieces look brilliant btw.

Hey Helzon, very interesting work you've amassed here. The creatures remind me of the bugs from Starship troopers, and a little bit of the Zergs from Starcraft. I'm diggin the CHoW too, and as others have said, your linework is definitely your stronger side. Just keep working on the color and you'll be there in no time. Cheers!
sweet hayzeus! nice update ala salaryman-style there, mikey!
diggin' dem creatures you create. i agree, first line, then tone, then color....then the world! moo-hohohahahaha.....
cheers!

Tullie: Greatly appreciated mate. Feel free to crit as well, always looking to improve. Thanks for stopping by.
Zord: Yeah, I have a lot of lobstrosities in the old sketchbook...I think the entire insect world looks so damn alien to begin with...that it's easy to get sucked into using them alot..As for color..I have a few tuts of theory to really sit down digest. But I think Red's got it right...Line, Tone, Color. Cheers!
Big RED!: Hey Dave, I appreciate bro. Yeah..definitely trying to homage the man. Scoping that SB was enough to just make me want to go bury my pencils and become an accountant. LOL...jk...but seriously...yet another force of nature...his style is so damned clean and he renders out his characters with just the right lighting and mood...it's incredible.
I'm with you on the color...I think I'm gonna hang a friggin chalkboard around my neck just to remind myself...LINe, ToNE, CoLoR. (my brain is a sieve).
I'm on my way to go scope your SB...Salut!

Vigo: LOL...yeah...the color is gonna get there just as soon as I can wrap my brain around it. It seems like two steps forward and ten back, but it's all part of the journey. Thanks for dropping in and leaving the kind words.
bad ass work man, love the update's
the monsters are killer, love to see more
keep em comming
Hey Mike! Where be those new doodles? Mr. Undertow and I were thinkin' that we should shoot for 10 new sketches to post per week (keep us honest).
What say you?
Cheers!

10 per week it is...can't guarantee they are all going to be brilliant..but...okey dokey....(what the hell have I gotten myself into)....oh shit...did I say that out loud???
Killer lines my man, your round 2 dome entry was a particular fave of mine. Love that venemous bird from long ago too... keep kicking ass brother.
Wow your sketches are amazing, i like your creatures the most, especially the bird-like creatures, very smooth crisp line work with very much detail.
Though the humans dont fit my taste.
Baki: Sorry for the late get back...sometimes I never get notified that the thread has been responded to...my bad for not checking sooner...Thanks man...I intend to now that I have committed myself to 10 per week...(still trying to wrap my head around it).
Cody: Bro...thanks so much! You don't know how that stokes me. Got some sketchies in the works that are grinding their way to fruition. Again...Bravo to you sir for all your time and effort in the Dome...can't wait to see this round's bunch of beauties.
Lazy: Much appreciated, I am going to keep the twisted creatures coming  bwahahahaha
