fantastic Building work Tom, any chance of getting Alan Tew to post his sketches? I love looking through his blog. Anyway thanks for sharing!
Hey Tom. I've started listening to Metallic Falcons after watching your vids...which is now my new place to find good bands haha. You should post a little list of the bands you're digging right now!
I love the really dramatic shapes in your more recent graphite environment sketches. Cheers!
really diggin the buildings señor scholes, some slightly odd uses of scale in them (i.e. palatial architecture used in tight corridors) but it works in a weird way.
keep getting the lead out.
cheerio
Hi everyone,
I drew up this paintover a few days back because Tom requested help with drawing feet so I edited the pic and threw in a few extra changes for good measure. Tom and I thought we should share this here to hopefully help some other people too!![]()

Paintover explaination (hopefully you can all read my writing!)
And finally, some thoughts about stances/ weight distribution using one of Tom's sketches.
We hope you find this useful!

always love seeing your work. more please
you should come visit SF one day...
I'm impressed by those pencil sketches. It's not common to see on this forum environments done in traditional media. With just pencil and paper design skills are put to the test.
Digital art wonderful as always.
Cheers.
Really cool SB man, keep it up!![]()
Wow man, amazing improvement in clarity of technique, intriguing experiments in stylization and aesthetics.
Are you working on any projects/portfolio pieces?

Thanks for sharing the wisdom fellasi reckon that knight piece could be taken even further - it has good 'classical painting' potential, perhaps if you busied the composition more (more breaking up of the shapes/overlap) and kept pushing it, generally. Do love it how it is though. propz

ps... its amazing how subtle those pointers can be to do their thing... noting that one for later!
I second Form about the last painting.
Very nice job, so painterly...
Funny how an art dump can make people overlook the subtelties of every single piece... ("people" including me)
Before it was posted on this page over again and put a lil more focus on, i really hadnt looked at it enough to see what it was i liked (or not) about it.
The sunlight feel in the background is conveyed with much strength, vibrance of color is definitely there too and the stiffness of that swordsman is almost one of those yummy flaws u wouldnt like to see being fixed ever.
Only thing is his left (right for us) arm has something weird going on in term of pronation (?) u dont really get away with, yet im not sure why and it also just might be me...
Anyway i like this piece and you deserve something like an exclusive SB or else for what u are doin as an artist and what u've been doing, sharing, learning and teaching so far, as a member of Ca.org.
oh and 5 stars in case some bunch of retarded kids would start to rate 1 star around the SB section for the sake of having fun...
cheers.
