pleased to hear my old drawings are having some success^^

you are right about the fact of them looking black.Actually i did'nt even ink them, i just drew them staight away with the black pen, just to show my PCs what the enemies lookes like

number 5 of the old drawing is actually what the battle scene looked like, i drew it the day after...jeez, that was real fun

Your fantasy stuff is really awesome. I mean my opinion is from a lousy artist but I like it. Not everything should have to be technical and so resticted to real life, that it why it's fantasy. I think the feeling of putting something on paper that comes from the mind is so much more rewarding than just coping something or drawing what you see. It's so awesome to have an idea and have it look just the way it did as you saw it in your mind. The technical stuff is a good thing to have though, cause I don't have it. Needs much work.

you're absolutely right, thats why art is so rewarding and the reason why people keep producing it ^^

But, as you said, i most of the case when you've got something in mind, you gotta use basic concepts you can only learn by studying what already exists

thx for the comments...i need also ANY critics you have to say (just like Kitsu did, that really helped) and, if you have, any suggestions on inking (techniques n stuff) beacause i'm workin on a comic project in these days

    ciao

Great work, love the loose lines. You certainly have a flare for fantasy .

Hey there, thanks for stopping by my book. I just looked over your stuff and want to say, "Wow! Cool!" You've got some great concept designs going on here and you're expressing them well - I especially love that digital white hooded guy with the tongue, that's crazy to look at.

What I was noticing mainly - and it was in earlier posts, so you may have corrected this - is that in large scenes with many characters/buildings you tend to lose a sense of depth. I realize this is linework, so you wouldn't rely on value to establish space, but I think you could work to get a better sense of volume and hold the characters fit in it. That landscape study has that, compared to this city scene, where it took me a while to consiously separate the characters from each other to see who was in front/behind and interacting with whom.

Again, great stuff, I look forward to seeing more!

Yeah you rule! I'd suggest you do some figures which aren't that much exaggerated in their muscles. But if it's what you're going for, it's cool too

    thanks!

you mean in the comic or in the rest of the stuff? because the X guy will be this muscular!
if you are talking about the rest of the stuff, well you are right, i should try different shapes and constitutions...i think i'll draw something fat and something thin soon

    Hey man,

been looking through your stuff and is retty cool and expressive, but imo lacks a bit in variety, it seems the theme of troll and knight is a frequently reoccurring one within your work. Maybe give it a shot and try some vehicles or landscapes maybe? keep em coming.

    greets, Jaïn

hey gnoll- thanks for your feedback! I really like the composition on the blue zombie thingy picture! Generally you should pay attention to your lines and silhouettes- two very important tools that do alot for you.. first thing i associate with silhouettes is hurricanes work! I bet youve seen it before.. but you can check on it again and maybe learn from his shapes and silhouettes. i really enjoyed the linework of that monster in the last post too. One last thing: Do some value studies! i suggest working monochromatic at first. just play around with midtones highlights and dark shadows.

shit, looks like imageshack is slowly getting rid of some of my stuff..whatever

@JaïnvanNigtevegt: thx! yeah, already heard this before...you're damn right...i'll try to practice on vehicles and enviros, but i'm really crap at doing those...but i guess i'll have to try sooner or later

    @Andy Nicho: thanks, i will

@zao75231:thx a lot, i'ts nice to see people look at my sketchbook!so, i gotta fcus on dynamics and flow, and proportions? well'i'll try yeah, i use pen pressure, but i'm still a noob with PS...

@kyi_72:wow, somebody notice the flying machine, thats good...i have to do more of that kind of stuff...and yeah, i love creature designs....

@krakel: yeah, you're not the first to tell me...and that means i did'nt improve yet...doh! i'll try more, i'll promise (guess i might as well get a couple of markers and try to work on some dynamic thumbnails with a good silhuette).About the monochromatic studies, i already tryied to do some, but guess i have to do more...i'd better do some live drawings too...

@Cordy: thx to you! I really enjoyed colouring those lines, hope the results were good enough...i don't have enought time to practice with the colouring (damn school).I hope to get much better with sequential art, or i'll never get this damn thing started

...too much stuff to do.Oh well.
Not really feeling like drawing lately, but here's my last load o'crap, enjoy.

    thx everyone!

Hey gnoll, just returning the favor dude. =) Your creature/fantasy stuff shows a nice variety. My faves are the undead warrior colored in bluish purple, and the comic is looking good with the color.
