Level 4 Gladiator: Meridiani
Amazing. Amazing stuff. Please keep posting! I can't believe some of yours are less than a couple of hours, hour, 30mins etc.
Quick question:
On Page 7 (?) you mention
"Now I ALWAYS start by overlaying in different modes 2 or 3 different older speed paints or sketches... this makes things way faster."
Can you explain how this works? I'm guessing it gives you the textures and whatnot, and I've tried it, but I can't get it to really work....
Cold : games are the devil!
Denisiuk : you mean, how old? and nah, I won't post those speeds I don't like.. but their ghost will be present in other speeds using them as base
Skurai, yes it's on my profile.. step by step to come soon >>
Orion9282 : well digital makes things way faster compared to traditional. And that techinique well, just litzeraly put an older pic on a layer over another pic, in overlay, color dodge or whataver mode, and start from that![]()
again & again & again: m@, your stuff is one of the strongest of the forum and I'm surprise that you don't post some of your pics in the finish section !!! [mais bon, tu préfères peut-être un peu de tranquilité, huhuhu !]
Aside that, nice stuff with the last updates.
Salut, mec ! À bientôt !
Julien.
Julien ALDAY
amazing!!! I had to stare at the "squad" image for a long time.. very very nice. you shold work on feet though..and silhouettes especially on characters but also on your enviro speedpaints.
-krakel
m@ your absolutely right, you know how much time you waste playing games where as you could of produced good art and made improvement. I guess im gonna quit gaming... actually best thing to do is delet em from my hard drive!!
Alday.J : hehe , I don't think those are "finished pics" for me, so I don't post em :p the question is, will I ever finish a pic ? :d thans!
krakel : thanks for your c&c. I'm practicing making good silhouettesi n a few strokessometimes it works , sometimes not
Cold : hehe well some gaming from time to time is not a bad thing

some 3CH crazyness. 1h/1h30 per pic
"A menacing catamaran invades a queen on an enormous rock."
"An exo-skeleton cowboy collects an enormous vessel in a field of meteorites."
"A misty spider breathes on an interstellar larva (monochromatic)"

Haha, I saw the last one on sijun, really great program for getting ideas when you're board, and need to practice painting like me
Awesome!
~Skurai
hehe these are great.. i fuckin love your textures, so loose.. oh yeah, i modified your darwin file to add some more stuff to get variety, i was tired of assymetrical chnidias or whatever the hell they were.. there was some good stuff, like a nocturnal arachnid with enormous magnificent ovoid sexual organs..
I just love your stuff. so much life and atmosphere in all of it.
You rock man!
Julien : merci!
Skurai : yep, it's very fun, and useful. forces you to go out of your usual drawing subjcts.
Main Loop : thanks. Hehe post your version, I'd like to play with it!
CrazyHarij : thanks!
Skureal : thanks man

Great sketch! Done after a statue I presume?
Dude! Awesome stuff as always...
I love the interstellar larva! The mood in it rocks!
*asspats some more for good measure*
peace
d-C
aye, that does require some asspatting!Really nice values on his shirt, I think his face could use some highlights though, seems slightly dull. Love the little bumps and details on his helmet, beautiful! cheers,
Wow, just looked thru this whole thread. Very cool stuff. I'm in love with your "brushwork" (if you can call it that in digital). Keep it up!
ArcoNL : thanks! yes it's a life drawing after a statue in the museum.
dCepT : hehehe thanks! glad you like![]()
bumskee: thanks againyeah, it does look a bit dull :/ the scanning was not that good... there's a bit more value range there in the original sketch.
Zaphod : thanks![]()
followed you here from the 3CH thread. mind blowing stuff! I absolutely love your landing pad/observation platform on the previous page!
whooo, the last ones are great mat! post more pencil sketches. topnotch work dude!
Sweet... I love that last one, and I agree with Atmospheria, post more traditional sketches!
Wow. I like your stuff, especially the couple of armor designs. Your anatomy is beautiful, but the poses feel a bit stiff to me. (wish I could be more eleoquent, but my brain is about to shut down. Anyway, keep up the good work)
I really like the idea of putting 2 or 3 images in different overlaying modes to get a random feel for a new scene
I will definitly try this as soon as I get home
and the tutorial was very helpfull
thanks a lot
wow!!! i should get out of my sb more. your paints are incredible and that last statue is suberb.
